XXR 527 18x9.75 +20

What kind of tire is best suited for this setup? I was thinking 215/40/18 or 225/40/18 or 225/35/18, I like a lot of rim poke but i'm not sure what I will have to do to make this work. I have Stance coils and LCA's. Will I have to roll my fenders or add camber or both?

9.75 will poke with 225s and i think 215s will be a little dangerous. There is about 40 pages worth of info on XXR wheels in the XXR wheel thread.

Good tire choice for stretched tires.

I will be running XXR 527 18x9.75 +20 with stance coils and LCA's with a 225/40/18 tire but I am unsure of what tire is optimal for the stretched look. Thanks

grostoine 09-02-2013 06:39 PM

225 on 9.75 !!! Holy stretch !!

Charky 09-20-2013 10:54 AM

Any rubbing or fender work? Camber specs? What drop are you using ?

DarrenDriven 10-15-2013 11:09 AM

Hmmm... I tried one of these on the back of my car yesterday. Thought that there would not be a way to make it look good, but looking at the car above... I might have to reconsider. They had 245/45-18s on them... too much meat on this wheel, but with the 225/40s they look great!

Is that the same 9.75 +20 , Darren ? Tires are a little too meaty ... I may order the same too then :) . They look good !
What's the camber specs?

DarrenDriven 10-24-2013 01:18 PM

Yes, those are 18x9.75 +20 and I just pulled the trigger last night and bought them from the Forester owner who was selling. Stripping the tires and throwing on some 225/40s later today, if I can find a set. Should have photos soon.

DarrenDriven 10-25-2013 02:34 PM

Found some used Toyo 225/40-18s at a local tire shop ($155 M+B for all four!!!!) and was able to get these XXRs installed.

Thanks! You can see all the details about my car in the link in my signature, but really quick I am running D2 coilovers with the front camber plates maxed out. Haven't gotten an alignment.

BlueDubbinTDI 10-27-2013 02:47 PM

Are those the chromium black color?

DarrenDriven 10-28-2013 01:02 AM

I get VERY light rubbing on the front when I corner really hard, but no rubbing other than that.

Yes, they are chromium black.

XXR 527 18x9.75 +20 Will it fit??

Hello Guy and Gals

as title says will it fit on FR-S?

my car is lowered by Eibach Pro with stock shock and strut.

will it rub my fender?

Please advice..

Thank you!

GaN-MaN 04-11-2014 04:10 AM

There is an entire 82 page thread on the XXR 527/530 and i can bet Bob's your uncle that you will find if it fits in there...

Before you ask again, yes people are running 18x9.75 +20...

Celigts 12-09-2014 02:55 AM

Just attemted 235/40/18 on xxr 18x9.75+20 with skunk2 coilovers with 10k springs replaced all around...Max camber front...and hits fender on max drop. Rear hits fender...I'm thinking i shoulda went 225/40/18...

DarrenDriven 12-09-2014 05:50 PM

Yeah, my setup with the 225/40/18s only rubs slightly when I enter a steep driveway at an angle and loads a wheel, or at 50MPH+ freeway on-ramps. You could always raise it up 1/2" and see if that helps... but that defeats the purpose, haha.

I like your set up but would going 18x9.75 40 make the wheel go into the fender more or out and I would like to go with meaty tires??? But still have the concave look

You are correct, but I think these wheels are limited in offset. XXR only makes the 9.75 in a +20. The more narrow wheel can be had on like a +35, better suited to fitting the car.

Albaro08 06-30-2015 08:01 PM

So you don't recommend going this size or find something else I want to go 235/55/18 on wheels

That's way too big. It will never fit. 235/40/18. Or 225/40/18. I've seen 225/35/18 too.

alvinrenz 07-16-2015 02:06 PM

I am planning to go with these set up with BC Coilover extreme drop. wrapped with 225/40

My question is, Will it rub on the lowest settings? if yes can i lift it a notch?

do I get a better fitment if i go 18x8.75 in the front or i should be fine in squared 9.75?

thanks for the help. This will be my first coilover and wheel fitment.

I am aiming similar to this
