Curse, double-up, curse curse!

This is the second time in less than three months of owning the car that it has been hit in parking lots! First one was set strait at the best local body shop on the other dude's dime. This one is just paint damage and some bumper scrapes and I watched as it happened so I know that it wasn't a big impact that caused it. After looking at the best I could do for pictures, is this something I should try and DIY and pocket some money from the perp or should I body shop it again and have the dude pay for his deed?

Thanks for any advice in advance!

Where's the damage? All I see are self portraits

The scrapey scrapes, man! But taking pictures of myself with the reflection of my shiney car is defintely a pass-time of mine... I forgot to use my duck face!

Take it to a shop. Aint no way you're gonna fix missing paint.

Your car is a mirror!

BRZNutt 06-09-2013 08:35 PM

Yep, take it to a shop and get it done correctly. Otherwise it will eat you alive when you look at it. Then park out in the boondocks so no one runs into it again. I would have freaked out!!

Luckily I had finished my torta and jamaica or else I would have had to do a spit-take. I was just having a bite before embarking with my mates to a bachelor party. Lucky me that there was a good excuse to drink away the accident.

I would be more concerned about your club foot!!!!!

Being serious sorry that it happened.....Again. I would take it to a shop and have dude pay for it.

Yup, my car has been hit twice on the front right bumper and once on the front left bumper within 3 months of owning the car despite parking on the far side of parking lots.

These cars are a magnet for being bumped.

Is your car chrome?

Nah, my browser is, my car is black.

I'm starting to think the curse is part of the design. The car just looks so "low" and flat, people can't tell where the car is. Unless it's a giant slab of metal like and SUV, it is not there =_=;

I park away from everyone! When I think there will be a small chance of people filling the lot, I pull off the A-hole card and double angle park. Fuck other people I say.

I think thats what it is...the 3 times my front bumper has been bumped is when I reverse park.

All 86 should come with buggy whips, the ones with lights on them, that automatically deploy when you park, fuck i am a genius...

Yeah, people seem to somehow miss this thing. I was sitting in mine at a stop sign when a lady pulled up next to me, and then turned right into my car as she moved forward to see around a bush (like I had just done). I could almost have understood if she was in a truck or SUV... not the Prius she was driving. Of course she had no insurance, or license. At least you got paid both times your car got hit. It is frustrating as hell though.

You guys know that on other car forums there are "curse" threads also? Seen it on GCtuner, tc club, etc. Shit just happens doesn't matter what you drive. Sucks for OP though. Hope you get that all fixed up and squared away!

It sucks, but I feel your pain. My car has been hit 3 times, once in the bumper like yours, once in the passenger door, and once above the rear wheel.

DIY and used the saved $ for new socks and sandals, got dam man have you no dignity

DoomsdayJesus 06-25-2013 03:28 PM

Get it done at a shop.

Also, get a bumper badger or something similar. When I had my old BMW or SRT-4 parallel parked in Philly it was frequently abused by assholes doing the back and forth bump-it-till-you-find-it. I got a cheap as hell bumper badger that I now have in my FRS, but there are better ones that really provide some protection and just sit in the trunk taking up almost no room when you're not using them.

If I had a front plate mount I'd also get some of the giant oversized rubber bumpers, as well.
