Gokarting #2, 6/25 @ Umigo in Livermore
 

UPDATE: I've gone ahead and put down the deposit for the track, so please bring $12.50 (per person) when you get there. Since its a deposit for everybody, the same amount will be taken out of your final total when you pay (regardless if you need a license, college ID discount, etc.)

We are set-up to arrive at 8pm, non-license holders get to watch a training video, then we race. The group will be split into two run groups, which will be running the track every 15 mins (two 12 min runs with a 15 min break in between).

As mentioned in a previous thread, let's go karting!

Where: Umigo 6538 Patterson Pass Rd Livermore CA
When: Tues. 6/25 at 8pm (arrive at 8pm, race at 8:30)

Pricing is set individually, so no group discounts :thumbdown:. It will be "Traction Tuesday" so it won't be the slippy Umigo I'm used to, but should be more fun! They are also having "extended" sessions at 12 mins (vs. the regular 8 mins) for the same price (thanks @smmmurf)

My plan is that we do 2 extended (12 min) time trial sessions, but that is flexible, depending on what everybody wants to do when we get there.

If you have a helmet or a motorcycle helmet, bring it. If you don't have one, no worries, they have helmets there, but bring a head sock if you have one, they charge another $5 for a head sock.

Note that the track can hold 10 drivers per race, so if we do go over, we will be breaking up the group to a couple of run groups. Also, groups of 10 or higher will require a 25% deposit to make the reservation, which I can cover if we have to, but please, if you do rsvp, make sure that you do show up (I'm not made out of money! ;))

I would like a good definite head count so we can solidify our reservation.

Last time I was there, Costco Livermore was selling $50 gift cards for ~$35 at at the location off of Airway Blvd about 3 exits away from Vasco Rd on 580. They've been doing this promo for a couple years now, I think. Good way to save a few bucks.

Sounds like a great idea. Seems like Umigo is in a busness park sort of area, dont remember seeing very many food places around other yhan a taco bell lol

FYI, they also sell these at the Costco in San Ramon, for anyone close to there @MyRx. Always tempted to pick them up when I used to go there.

Damn.. so total will be $35 with license. Oh wells, hopefully this will be worth driving to livermore for. The track maps they have up on the site looks pretty nice as well as the amount of passing space.

Just to clarify pricing for everyone (per Umigo Website)

Hot laps: $25 for the first, $15 for each additional
Membership $10 (headsock included)

If you are a college student (or just out of college and still have your ID to abuse), each session is only $15.

Yeah. Im in. And I can lead Patterson pretty safely at night. You can only fit a few in a pic, but it would be pretty sweet.

And I know, the website sucks. Its a link on the homepage. Also if you have a college ID it is a buy 2 get 1 free night. Lol
