How much for the new style?

I have the new version, the old one was... Scary.

OrbitalEllipses 06-06-2013 04:41 PM

I JUST installed my "old" style ones. Wonderful.

AND the "new" ones are cheaper? WTF.

JPxM0Dz 06-06-2013 04:41 PM

I think I need these! Not as sexy as the Stance LCA, but might have more functionality for the cost difference

FT-86 SpeedFactory 06-06-2013 04:47 PM

Sorry guys, not really NEW vs OLD as it is:

Only option before was WRX arms ( Old Style ) +/- 3 degree of camber adjustment.

New Option is FRS/BRZ ( New Style ) +/- 2 degree of camber adjustment.

So the new ones don't give you as much camber adjustment.

continuecrushing 06-06-2013 04:49 PM

Looks a lot more "oem" than old ones

mines13 06-06-2013 04:50 PM

If your car is street driven, I think the stamped steel with the eccentric adjustment makes a ton of sense. Reliable and no heim joints/threads or potentially cheap aluminum billet to worry about.

This did terrify me too when I caught it on FT86SF a couple weeks ago. Jeremy drowned out most of my worries about my "old" style LCA's.

It's been several thousand miles and I haven't died even once! New ones seem like a great and very affordable option for people who just need some camber correction after lowering.

Calum 06-06-2013 05:12 PM

Are the bushings the same size, materail and durameter as stock? If not, how do they differ? Can you weigh the two for us? And give an idea of the weight distribution? The older design looks like it would have more weight closer to the wheel, so more unsprung mass then the new design.

As always, thanks a ton guys.

A few.

post_break 06-06-2013 05:28 PM

I got one of the new ones. That's right, one. Thanks to SPC not labeling them as sold per wheel. They just updated their site to say that now...

So now I'm waiting on my second one to come in.

According to the video, $220 for the new one, $270 for the old

SportInjected 06-06-2013 10:39 PM

Ordered! Should help me achieve the desired fitment with those 17x9 +35 rpf1's I should be receiving shortly from you guys.

*KID* 06-06-2013 11:06 PM

yea saw them on ft86's site. Very nice price

Toyobaru808 06-06-2013 11:27 PM

I dont know much about lca's but compare to all other lca's theses dont look very beefy/strong. Will these be ok for daily driving and spirited drives?

HATED1 06-07-2013 01:29 AM

i was waiting for this, thanks! i will order soon!

love 4 boost 06-07-2013 01:23 PM

is this worth getting if I'm still still on the stock suspension and should I look into caster/camber plates for the front as well?

No, unless you're autocrossing/tracking and want mo' camber.

f0rge 06-07-2013 03:23 PM

DAMN! I was waiting for upper arms but finally caved on the "old" LCAs a couple of weeks ago, I like the looks of the new ones better and they're cheaper too...

Look easier to adjust as well, son of a.

JPxM0Dz 06-11-2013 05:48 PM

Ordered these and couple of other goodies from your site

Thanks!

Calum 06-11-2013 09:27 PM

Thanks! Got these and my Whiteline goodies today

xwd 06-18-2013 06:36 PM

Just FYI, one of the 2008 WRX guys running these had issues with the outer bolts he received stripping their threads when trying to torque them down to the recommended TQ. SPC was sending him another set of bolts and nuts and thought the lock nuts they originally sent out were bad.

FT-86 SpeedFactory 06-23-2013 10:00 PM

SPC will stand behind the part. Both arms are reasonably priced options for rear camber adjustment.

Laika 06-23-2013 10:10 PM

I did some mountain-carving-torture-testing of the "old" aka WRX style control arms today. I have no more doubts about them. I'm glad I bought them opposed to dealing with bushings that would have been the same price after labor. At least a friend and I were able to install these ourselves pretty quickly and painlessly. Hell my dealership even enjoyed doing my custom alignment with them since they're so easy to adjust.

bakerr6 06-24-2013 01:05 PM

so which would you guys prefer? I've been waiting on the whiteline ones for a while, but I have a better chance of finding bigfoot than the whiteline products being released.

Cusco is our personal favorite, but the SPC ones get the basic job done for the right price. :)

We needed more than 2 degrees of adjustment so Cusco is what we use right now.

j2digit 06-27-2013 06:42 PM

how are the installation of these? is it pretty straight forward easy? mind you, i have no lifts other than the regular jack with 4 stands. I've also asked around regular auto shops and it ranges from $240 to $480 for a set of rear camber arms and rear toe arms installed.

thanks

Arms are easy to install; did mine with the car on 4 jackstands. Make sure you got a breaker bar and some good penetrating lubricant.

I would add that when you put the new ones on, don't torque anything down until the suspension is loaded. I put the rear on jack stands, replaced the arms, then lowered the rear onto ramps, bounced the car a few times to let the suspension settle and then torqued everything down.

Steve 06-27-2013 08:29 PM

many props to ft86speedfactory. received new version today.

I guess that's my next project this weekend.

thanks

Put the new style arms on my FR-S. I am slammed on bc coilovers and running 9.5 wide wheels 35 offset. The arms allowed me to correct my camber from -2.8 to -1.8. They are great and easy to install. Look just like factory arms, but slotted. Paid $191.00 plus shipping at Enjuku Racing.

*KID* 08-06-2013 09:39 PM

Ordered my SPC control arms Monday. Hoping to correct my camber before track day
