LCA SPC vs. Cusco

Hey been trying to do my reasearch in regard to adjusting my camber. Really want to go the LCA route rather then bushings. I have heard good things about Cusco but they are a little on the spendy side. I am assuming you get what you pay for. I have had a hard time finding someone with the SPC LCA and there thoughts. They are half the price but I am a little worried about quality. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated

Spc is fine, turn in concepts uses them on their car which was good enough for me. I can get them for you for a great price too.

Are you okay with a heim joint/spherical bushing? These are metal to metal and will make noise.

If you answer yes, any of the bigger name and quality boutique rear LCA would work, not just Cusco. The Cusco one DOES have a dust boot, which is a plus for street use...but that's not worth $100 over every other arm to me.

If no, then you want the SPC arms.

So is it possible with the Cusco using the pillow ball mount and being metal on metal to cause a constant clanking noise while driving???

I just installed the cusco's and have no noise issues so far.

Currently SPC has two models available for the FRS/BRZ/GT86:
67645:

and 67660:
http://www.spcalignment.com/partimages/67660.jpg

Looking at the two I prefer the 67660, since it looks similar to the OE set up and the camber adjustment is on the outside mount (similar to the FIGS LCA), which does not change the angle of the shock and swaybar endlink mount when you adjust camber. Oh, and its also cheaper. Anyone have any info, opinions or recommendations on the two different LCAs?

The 67660s look good to me. Probably would have gone these if I knew about them. Awaiting cuscos...

Does anyone know why FT86 Speedfactory has these SPC for $220 and the rest of the web has them ~$129. They appear to be the same recently released product.

FT86SpeedFactory is selling you two. Wherever they are listed for $129 you are purchasing ONE and actually need to order TWO.

They are sold in singles. I know we will see another post saying "I only got one SPC arm, WTF!!!"

SPC has excellent quality. They have the lowest defect rates for the parts they make for the factory I work at (I'm the supplier quality engineer) and their processes net a well designed, defect free part.

Conflicting statements. "lowest defect rates" does not equal "defect free part"

Have you tested both versions of the lower control arm?

Dephective 06-25-2013 07:50 PM

Regarding quality of SPC arms, althought I have not personally used SPC arms on any of my vehicles, I can say for sure that SPC is a top notch company. I have used their ball joints on two of my previous cars without incident, nor have I heard of any failures of any of their items. They are usually considerably less than market price for similar products, and have been in business for quite a long time. Nothing against Cusco, but my money is on SPC when the funds permit. That being said, I'm sure than has been failures, quality control can only do so much to weed out potential real world issues, same is true for any company.
