GALAXY BLUE SILICA BRZ Compilation

Everyone feel free to add photos you come across (and eventually photos of your own BRZ in this color!)

GBS is the unicorn of the BRZ colors. It's very hard to get a picture of one in the wild.

Of course Zaku you have one, Oh look a BRZ, lol

ForReal-Someday 03-05-2012 01:25 PM

Picking a color for this car is about as hard as picking my first born childs name, but I think this is the one.

Enemies 03-05-2012 01:52 PM

This is definitely the one for me. Problem is I don't think it'll be available in Canada. :(

Nate219BRZ 03-05-2012 02:41 PM

Why can noone get a picture in direct sunlight already!!???

neutron256 03-05-2012 03:01 PM

I can't wait for mine to get here. I almost went with WR Blue but I'm glad I didn't since it will make my car a little more unique.

Monkey_Boy 03-05-2012 03:42 PM

This is the best we can do?!? How about these?

Ok, I know that this is the Toyota/Scion, but is it generally agreed that the color will be the same:

...and this one is an Exiga, but the color and brand are right!

...and this is a Legacy, but work with me, here!

I know there is one that was delivered--it was on the car carrier that came through KC and dropped off the Black BRZ at a dealer here. They are out there.

I saw that one at the Lee's Summit Dealership. It looked great. Convinced me to scrap the 240sx project. Is the black one the one that will be at the auto show this week?

Zaku 03-05-2012 04:43 PM

Subaru's BRZ build site is so off on the color of GBS.

People originally thought it was another color, something like Plasma Blue, which has a purplish tinge to it.

That's my understanding. It was still at the dealership this morning.

Turbowned 03-06-2012 11:50 AM

One stopped by the local dealer today on it's way through New England:

this shot looks especially good. :happy0180:

Nate219BRZ 03-06-2012 01:39 PM

Im happy with my blind color choice

Subaruwrxfan 03-06-2012 03:04 PM

Darker than I thought, glad I went with WRB.

M-17 03-06-2012 04:01 PM

Those pics do the GBS justice. Since it's darker I should go with that and have somewhat the best of both worlds when it comes down to Black and WRB.

klch 03-06-2012 04:54 PM

Interesting color, a good color in my opinion is to look differently under different lighting

Dave-ROR 03-06-2012 05:16 PM

Somehow I love it and hate it at the same time.

Neutral_Eyes 03-06-2012 06:14 PM

Having a hard time deciding between WRB and DGM, GBS seems like a nice compromise and I'm really warming up to it.

Snoopyalien24 03-06-2012 07:22 PM

I saw this color on a tC and it looks great in the sunlight!

Well it's aquamarine, so aren't they the same color? I mean, its going to look very very similar to that :D

Edit: well its nautical blue like this

Stryker Trailwood 03-06-2012 10:05 PM

Nautical blue is not aquamarine/galaxy blue silica.
they are similar in that they are both dark blues, but not the same.

there are some good pictures of the FR-S in aquamarine/GBS in the geneva thread over on the FR-S side.

Here's the 86 in GBS at the Geneva Motor Show.

http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/au...a-GT-86-01.jpg

A nice, rich blue. Not as dark as the black (where I think you lose the lines of the car) but not as in your face bright as some of the other options. Pretty!

Turbowned's shots show how tough it is to take a good picture of this color, even in full sunlight. It may be one of those that you really need to see for your self.

Best photo of the color so far. Thanks Draco.
Do I hate it or do I love it? I'm still not sure...

Enemies 03-14-2012 01:48 AM

Want. So bad.

Not available in Canada, Canada doesn't have DGM either. Ended up getting SWP. Wish so bad it was matte instead. :P

Draco233 03-14-2012 02:50 AM

From what I see in that pic that I got in the email from the dealer, it almost reminds me of the Indigo Blue Metallic chevy used a few years ago, matter of fact just like my cavalier I own currently lol.

Monkey_Boy 03-16-2012 12:19 PM

Here's one on the factory line at Gunma:

Same exact car as previously posted by Turbowned in post #17.
