Had a little fun yesterday in my automatic. Did a power brake got tires spinning and let it loose in manual mode layed down a 30ft patch.

A good burnout is timeless. I've out-grown a lot of things, car wise, but I still get a kick out of doing burnouts once in a while...

You know I have a friend who is a senior mechanic for Toyota . And he said it will put a smile on your face a flutter in the heart and that's about all . Lol

How does one properly burn out in an mt? Yea I'm a noob.

revs, drop clutch, engage brakes, keep pedal on right depressed

Clutch in, ample amounts of throttle, drop clutch, apply brakes if wanting to do stationary burnout.

Needless to say, it's not good for your clutch, so don't do this at every stoplight trying to get poonani.

You guys forgot the part about disengaging traction control. :P

I think you'd get an eye roll and a laugh before you got any poonani.

Ok I've done this before I thought it was called launching tho. Is that something different? Like if ur going to drag race I've heard it called launching?

That's right, you need the handbrake for the poonani. :bonk:

A tip for those that may not know.. its best not to just "dump" the clutch..
Bring the clutch pedal up to the point of engagement.. then let go of it..
This method will take up any slack in the driveline and keep you from snapping parts and bending things.. less abusive this way

What's the combination for the AT?

Here is what I tried but it didn't work. Hold track off to get the double orange lights, put the car in snow to start in second, hold the break lightly and press the accelerator lightly then to the floor, release break. Got nothing. Another try I breaked too hard and the dumbass car killed the engine drive power *shakes fist*. I tried a few combinations like starting in first, throwing the engine up to 6k then quickly shifting to 3rd. None of it worked!

Please help me look cool ft86club ;)

Ha yeah how in the world do you do a burnout in an AT?

iag48st 04-29-2014 01:23 AM

I do them all the time and I need to stop smh. Disable the nannies, press brake pedal slightly, then press the throttle 100%. When you feel the car over power the slight brake pressure, press the brake pedal harder.

You should turn off trac and vsc etc. before you do this or put it in inspection mode to turn off Auto LSD
