Best Sounding V6 Engine
 

Since the release of the 2014 Jaguar F-Type, I must say that the 380 hp variant of the AJ126 (3.0l Supercharged V6) is probably the best sounding V6 I've ever heard in bone stock car.

I had a GT-R & when it was stock it sounded more like a vacuum cleaner than a V6. lol

Now after some catless downpipes & Akrapovic exhaust--things improved nicely.

VQ35 is my favorite V6 motor..

That Jaguar does sound nice. My favorite V6 is from a Dino Ferrari though... Normally aspirated Ferrari V-6 awesomeness:

Yeah, I'm not a Nissan fan-boy but I've heard some G35's with aftermarket exhausts that sound like Ferrari V8's. Very nice.

But woah, listen to this NSX.

That is among the worst and most hollow sounding engines EVER.

Stock it definitely has a very distinctive sound to it...but I absolutely hate the sound.

Basically Nissan V6s are my least favorite, sound-wise. That F-Type, on the other hand, sounds proper.

VQ35DE with ART pipes and HKS Hi-Power exhaust on a G35 coupe. Even bone stock exhaust tone sounds good. VQ35DE on a G35 coupe,FX35, and 350Z all sound very similar to each other except for the G35 sedan.

I am actually a fan of the 2GR-FE with a proper exhaust on the Evora.

Golf R32/Audi TT V6. If the golf got better mpg i'd have bought one on sound alone.

with the right exhaust it sounds gooood

i just did a muffler delete on mine and it i loved it.

Bone stock the new V6 Accord sounds pretty damn mean imo.

I don't think much beats the old British Leylend odd-fire v6 in the Metro 6R4 rally cars...

Is it sad that one of the first things I thought when I watched the Jaguar video was it would be pretty cool if the car could actually growl like that for one reason or another?

Aside from that, the exhaust does sound pretty good. I liked that Evora a lot too.

I had an Evora come into my work the other day. but hardly noticed it because a 993 turbo came in at the same time lol. I had no idea they had such a sweet sounding V6.

I hate how the new GTRs sound. The RB26 sounded a million times better than the V6 in the new ones. Hate it almost as much as the VQ motors in Zs and Gs. Something about them makes me want to blow my head off.

B8 S4

Im partial to the flat six myself but for V6s the VW R32 is most likely my favorite of cars ive heard in person, along with the NSX

my favorite inline 6 is the S54 from the e46 M3

V6...much tougher, probably the 3L Yamaha SHO motor or the 3L 4v Alfa V6

Agreed, I love the vr6's sound

Bone stock would probably be the VR6 from VW.
Modded is NSX hands down.

A little rash from the cabin but I'm sure it's a great public service. I'd prefer a quieter muffler.

Rumor has it thast Ferrari is ditching the 4.5 V8 (Why? I don't know....Great engine) for a Turbo V6 (to go along with the trend of Formula 1 going to Turbo 6's)

Seems pretty mild until WOT. I love that in an exhaust note.

I love the sound of their V8s...but a Ferrari Dino 246 sounds freaking amazing.

This 2GR-FE didn't sound like any other one I ever heard.

@1:15 has a start clip with revs and a little around 1:40 is when he takes off.

Imagine a Camry sounding like this lol.

The best sounding V6 won't exist until next year and it will be a 1.6L.

Why? Because nothing in this world is anything like any variation of a Formula 1 Engine.
