Home Baristas?

I started to get into espresso and cappuccinos the last few years. I need it to get my morning started and it's something I enjoy making for guests when they come over.

Wonder if anyone else has a hobby of being a home barista?

Here's my machine! :happy0180:

Did that cost you a good set of wheels and a nice exhaust?

FnFast 05-20-2013 10:42 PM

$350. But it paid for itself already. I don't hit up Wawa for coffee or Starbucks. I make my own in the morning. A bag of espresso beans lasts me over a month and cost $13. If it was n't for this machine I wouldn't be making as much money. haha

I own this.

Any mother wants one, hell everyone wants one. You can entertain children with it when you turn it on and it starts spinning. Best whatever amount of money i ever spent on an kitchen appliance.

haha. that does look pretty cool

Keurig machine here. And that's despite managing a Starbucks. LOL.

That looks like a pretty nifty machine though. How long does it take for the steamer to heat up?

how long have you been a partner? I'm a 133**** partner number :party0030:
I have a keurig and a french press. Arabian Mocha Sanani was my favorite!

FnFast 05-21-2013 02:41 PM

I use to enjoy French press. It only take 15 secs for the steam wand to heat up. Usually I start purging the wand while I add the espresso to the capsule.

I need a french press or that nespresso machine and then my mornings.. they would be... more delightful.

Mugfull of espresso to get moving every morning.
Aged Sumatra. Can only find it at Peets any more locally. Yum.

Has anyone used that new starbucks espresso machine they sell for home use

nalc 06-05-2013 02:43 PM

I've got a Jura Capresso grinder, Cuisinart electric kettle, Bodum french press, Hario V60 pourover, Aeropress, and the smallest Mokapot in my home coffee arsenal.

On business travels I mostly drink red eyes, most regular store coffee is pretty bland and watery compared what I make at home, but red eyes are usually good.
