People are always going to have thier own opinion on cars. If you think the Celica was a nice car then that's all that matters. Best of luck with your build.

Burrcold 05-19-2013 10:29 PM

Congrats! I owned three 7th gen Celica's and loved all of them! You've probably seen me on newcelica.org :)

Same username. Yup I've been a member there for 11+ years! I originally bought a 2000 GT when they first came out in 2001. Then bought a 2003 TRD GT...then a 2003 TRD GT-S. I seriously loved (and still do) those cars!

CSI:86 05-21-2013 12:59 AM

:( I used to own a Jap Spec Toyota Celica (the ones that had 147kw with TRD intake and TRD exhaust) in my uni days. The day i sold it and the buyer collected it and drove away from the train station where we met, i started crying. Seeing your Celica like that made that feeling come back :( :( :(

Tommysfrs 05-21-2013 01:06 AM

Back in 1975 I had a 1974 Toyota Celica put on over 150,000 miles before the engine (18R) gave-up in 1979. It was a great car, really liked it

Eurasianman 05-21-2013 10:36 AM

@DIM: Are those LEDs under your turn signal? Never seen that before.

USMC 05-21-2013 12:38 PM

Welcome aboard !!!

Eurasianman 05-21-2013 12:44 PM

So, I just saw an FR-S in the parking lot that has the LED strip as well on the bottom bumper. Is this suppose to be equivalent to the BRZ LED daytime running lights?

Oh, and welcome! :D

Ahh, I remember you now. I just did a quick search on you lol. I still do miss my Celica, I'll probably be making a small shadow box of my left over parts...lol.

Yess I suppose it's equivalent to the BRZ, it was a dealer add on. They charged me $400 for them! :mad0260: But I didn't feel like waiting weeks for another Whiteout in my area. But I'll be ditching them pretty soon and getting some OEM fog's . :)

LOL i use to fill up with Shell V Power 98RON (93AKI) when i got my car. And it consistently gets about 10L/100km (24mpg) in commute traffic. I switched to BP ultimate (dont know if you have it over in the states), and the car now gets 9L/100km (26mpg) in commute traffic.

sad to see what happened to your Celica. My Girlfriend owns one and I absolutly love it, especially when you can drive it on mountain roads where you really can use the engine to rev up high. So I'm always a bit torn between taking her car for a ride or mine ;-)

Anyway, good choice with the FRS, as I think it share quiet a few parts of the Celica's spirit. Looking forward to see how your car will change over the time. Guess the Enkei Wheels did not survive the celica? Or why did you not take them over to the FRS?

Yeah, it was sad to see my Celica go. I'm guessing your girlfriend has a T-Sport? I miss Lift a lot lol, and it had good handling for what it is.

And as for for my RPF1's, 2 were damaged pretty bad and 2 were untouched. :( So I'm trying to find a shop to see if anyone can repair them.If there not repairable, I'm debating to get the same ones or something different; cause I loved the way they looked and how light there were.

Yes, it's a T-Sport. I made sure back then when she bought the Celica (5 years ago) that it would be a TS ;-) it was a used one and only about 2k more than a "normal" T23. She then told me some years later that she's so happy I pushed her to the TS as she loves the high reving engine.

The RPF1 look awesome on the FRS, so if you can repair them for a reasonable price you definitifly should do it. If not, well, there are alot choices out there that look good on the FRS aswell:-)
