Optional OEM Toyota Seats for United Kingdom
3 Attachment(s)
Hi there my first post on here but jsut wondering if you guys had seen the optional custom made seats that you can order when you get the GT86 here in the United Kingdom.
I've attached some pictures. The option costs £1,600. So that's around $2,500. |

GOOD LORD!!! Those are beautiful!!! I would love to get a set of these!!
|
Why can't we have these options in North America? Seriously WTF Toyota do you not want my money???????????
Ok I'm calm again. |
Too busy for my tastes, but it's nice that you guys get options!

I saw someone's car in USA with those already..
|
They look comfy and heavy...a little bit of good mixed with the bad
|
I wouldn't spend $2.5K on them, but they look amazing.
|
Very cool!
|
Those look awesome! But they do seem a little busy.
|
The reason why we probably won't get these in the US is because in Europe, it's a Toyota, and in the US, it's a Scion, which is supposed to be bare bones and cheap.
They should really just drop the Scion brand. The FRS would have still sold fine if it were a Toyota, and the rest of the Scion lineup isn't doing that well. |

They are very sexy. I won't pay 2.5K for seats smhh thats a whole body kit and rims ...
|
Interesting to see a mix of opinion I thought you guys would have seen these already.
To my knowledge these are actually only available in the UK, as it is a UK-based custom supplier called Transcal that makes them for Toyota. I guess if any you guys out there really wanted them then they would make and send for a hefty fee. I have to see as awesome as these look I would probably instantly retrim to alcantara. Leather is just awful for 'spirited' driving...the sliding around is irritating as anything. TRD seats seem a far better buy for that sort of money IMO. |
Those are pretty interesting. I prefer my grippy cloth seats, but that quilted leather is exquisite. Reminds me of the Veyron Super Sport:

Don't care for the quilt look, but hey you guys have so many more options, quite a piss off the North American market gets fucked cause they assume no one wants to have the option to spend more cash, lol.
|
Yeah, no surprise. We can't even get HID's in this car, and folks overseas are able to choose from great options. I hope Scion dies a quick and painful death.
|
I love those seats! Maybe someone will make similar covers for us unlucky US owners
Death to scion! Lol |
I found this page on facebook, if you contact them they can sell it directly from Indosnesia https://www.facebook.com/Transcalindonesia?fref=ts
|
The reason its 2.5k its cause it comes as an option with the toyota touch & go satnav included
|
pretty sweet looking. but i still prefer the stock seats i've got.

Those do look nice! I went for the leather seats, but the basic version with the alcantera. At first I thought they went cheap like hey I'm paying for leather so what the hell have you given me, but in retrospect I'm actually pretty happy.
The alcantera grips and holds you really well. If I went with the linked seats I'd be worried about them being a little more 'form over function' and that I might slide around in them. Also why the hell would you pay so much for decorative back seats? At least they will stay clean and mint looking their entire lives ;) |
Woof, those are pretty bad looking.
I'd much rather have the BRZ TS seats. http://www.automoblog.net/wp-content...interior-2.jpg |
Sorry to dig up such an old post.
Can people still order this like an accessory after they opted out of the full leather seats, and if so is there a part number we can use? The reason I'm asking this is that I've since been getting that dreadfull wear on the side bolsters which you can see horror pics of in the UK forum and it seems to confirm my suspicions that there's no real leather on the alcantara/leather combo as others have pointed out, which doesn't seem to be the case with these "proper" leather seats. Also, I've been looking into this Transcal company which I'm not sure is the actual Toyota UK supplier or just a third party, does someone know? |
