The 15th Anniversary is going on right now and I'm trying to follow the abundance of post over on GTplanet.

Targeted release window: date they're going to miss.
|
|
yeah i'm sure this will be delayed and the next 2 forza iterations will come out before then.
|
Looks like they're gunning for Forza with the new customization features. I'm just glad you can now get a bigger variety of aero features on most of the cars instead of just an ugly spoiler like in GT5.
|
Should be a good one!
|
I dont think they've ever made their targeted release date. Just add about 40 months and should be about right.

A bit absurd to think that. GT5 was the evolution from GT4. GT6 is not an evolution from GT5, so it's not going to take no where near as long. They have been working on it since before GT5 was even released. The physics changes should be interesting. And looking forward to additional Aero/wheel packages. Think it's time I finally got a new wheel. Ever since mine crapped out, the controller just blows. |

I can understand not having an in-dash view for EVERY car in the game, but exterior customization is basically a necessity in todays racing simulators. Hell, YOU pioneered it. So stop fooling around and finally step into Forza's territory of car customization. If you did that, GT would be the hands down no bullshit better game. Right now, its a little better. GT4: Awesome when it came out for the photo-mode with how you could make your car look, TERRIBLE physics (LSD on a RWD car, try do a donut...couldn't) GT5: Way better physics, but your car isn't a premium? Tough luck, hope the manufacturer gave the car passable wheels from the factory or your SOL. Quote:

I rather them take a moderate amount of time like another year, then release fast and have a game full of bugs.
|
depends on how long its actually been in development since they announced its release. If what snap says is true, then they've had plenty of time to test a 'beta' version and work the bugs out. Infact, I'd venture to say that is exactly what they're doing over these next 7 or so months.
|
Don't care. Buying anyways.
|
So I'm wondering what mods you'll be able to add to the Tesla Model S in the game? MOAR LITHIUM!!!!

i'm excited, for sure, but if I have to collect paint chips just to paint cars again, i'm not going to be happy.
|
Not gonna be very optimistic on this, why?
1- about 1200 cars (kinda sure half of them are standards, many many same miata, gtr, s2000,,, ect with just different name model or MY 2- I remember one review with kaz, when asked about the engine sounds he said that he is very satisfied? ???? 3- areo customizations???? Have a strong feeling it will be just same as gt5 and not a tad bit of what is achieved in forza But love the new physics idea of tires and suspension when yoko and kw are involved in this :) |
GT5 engine sounds were not good. At all. Like D- on an A-F scale. It killed that game for me. I want to HEAR my car, not just have the graphics look pretty. Also, do FULL interiors on all the cars. I played GT 2, 3, and 4 for hours on end. GT5 to me was an enormous let down, and the wait was a waste. Hopefully GT6 fixes this.
And now I will step off of my soap box. |
No idea why they didn't make this a ps4 release title.
|
That must be a typo. Clearly they mean holiday 2023.
|
so gt5 was just gt5 prologue 2.0 and gt6 will finally be the game we were all waiting for.

Basically. I love playing Forza 4 and Horizons now. I havent played GT5 in at least 6 months. |

They also need a more wide variety of rims instead of limiting rims for a specific Premium car. For instance, a BRZ/FRS cannot be equipped with Enkei RPF1 but an RX7 can??? |
*New version will include THOUSANDS of cars!
+83 different Skylines! +37 different Silvias! +22 different S2000s! +56 different Evos! +28 different Miatas! +The least popular model year of popular other cars! +The old versions of cars that have already been out for at least one full model year! Same old story. |

• Multiple aerodynamic parts and custom wheels will be available for almost all cars. • Players can create their own personalised custom car in the game. Quote:
http://www.gran-turismo.com/images/c...XIQK5S6xuB.jpg Granted that is a pre-built car. However, that Wing is NOT in GT5. |
Quote:
And nothing new on that either. PS1 - GT 1-2 PS2 - GT 3-4 PS3 - GT 5 and now 6 PS4 - Perhaps GT 7-8 |
fuck the graphics and cars, how about they create a proper multiplayer interface that isn't shit and deal with bumper-car-loving, 12-year-old ass-****s in an effective and efficient manner.

I'm aware that iRacing has it down pact. I put to much money into my real life car though and have not put any into building a capable PC and mostly use laptops and tablets. So, to answer your question, no I have not played it officially yet, but I know how capable it is through research and reviews. |
just to clarify i'm emphasising their multiplayer aspect.
In iRacing, after the initial period of adjustment, the length of which depends entirely on your skill, you will be out of the rookie pool and take part in predominatly clean races. any blantant jackassery is delt with swiftly and sternly, the built-in recording system makes reporting a user for bad play very easy. there are plenty of race series that go on constantly, with each series having an automatic race hosted every hour, with qualifying and time-trials setup prior to the race. players are grouped together based on their skill and the cleanlisness of their driving record. it's so elementary i still dont understand why other sims haven't bothered in replicating this. Outside the rookie races, iRacing almost guarantees you fierce and clean competition by simply clicking "join." It's absolutely fantastic. of course there is the inherit problem of some series having a low participation count but that's just part of the system. and if you find that there isn't a particular series to your liking, then you can go ahead and create your own sessions. |
also to avoid investing too heavily into a PC, consider waiting for the
Oculus Rift http://www.oculusvr.com/ this will eliminate the need for a multiple monitor setup (along with the hardware required to run such extreme resolutions) and any sort of dedicated "rig" since now the "visual" side is always in correct placement. |

They should release a separate game called Nissan Turismo |

but from what i understand it's less pressure and more fun-fun. I will admit the peopel playing iRacing (outside of the rookie pool) are really hardcore. There is generally championships on the line with either cash or subrscription prizes to the winners. and i've only ever really done the road races. the guys doing Oval races tend to take it super seriously. Also, when you cause a crash in an oval race, you effectively ruin the game for the 27 (or whatever) other racers. And if it was LAP 50 of a 100 lap race, you can imagine the frustration. A lot of people get turned off iRacing because they can't adjust to the controls, crash a lot, never get their safety rating up, and end up racing against other bad or reckless players and just stay in the rookie league. So they quit. fromw hat i understand, Forza and Gt series are more or less accurate in physics when you do all the RIGHT things, but are much more forgiving when you provide incorrect inputs. After 200 laps in a Formula 2000 i still have trouble completing more than 5 laps in a row without crashing if driving at 100% effort. Every single iRacing race leaves me sweating like a pig and the fear/adrenaline i get is way higher than what i get in real life! :eyebulge: i highly recomend you try it if you havent. |

The past times I played online on Forza 4 members from this forum actually played with strict rules and played clean races with mandatory pit stops included. So for me it was new and challenging even though I sucked at it, no matter though I still found it fun. |
Quote:
-Players themselves can create and manage their own online events If you are in control of your series, then you have all the power to do the same thing you just described in iRacing I would imagine. And even in the current Online experience in GT5, if you don't drive right in some of the serious rooms, you get booted. End of that. Quote:

Forza compared to GT's physics is Night and Day. |
so what happens when the organizer is away, feels sick, or just gives up mid season?
the fact that the process is not automated gives way to human error from an organization point of view let me tell you, we have a solid 11-13 person admin team in real life and we have difficulty maintining an 8-10 event time-attack season. when you have a "click and play" system with Wall-i doing the tedious and annoying bits, it makes for more enjoyable game play. Miss the race at 8pm cuz you were banging your wife? No problem, just wait for the 9pm race. Wake up at 1AM wanting to do some racing? No problem, chances are your competitors wont be speaking any English but you still compete for the same series and the same points. Automation is a great thing. |
