Twins on the Dragon Version 1.2
 

Will be having another weekend get together in Robbinsonville, North Carolina to tame the Dragon once again. Southeast 86 will be hosting. I will get back to everyone with a for sure date ASAP! Before I send the email to get us on the calender I want to make sure we have at least 20-25 86ers coming. So, with all that being said who wants to come?

Gimme a date and ill be there. May bring another couple friends. Won't be 86's but nice cars regardless.

Splat is in. Trying to pick a set of tires to get. Want to stay with stock rims ,keep cost down, but would like more grip.
I would think we could all some from the Knoxville crew to join in, seems to be several right there.

Just checked the event calender and the first weekend is open! We will be at the Dragon July 5th-7th

Do you have a hook-up for cheap rooms at Fontana?
I took that weekend off work as I was thinking about hitting the dragon. I'll be in an s2000, but close enough.

I don't at this time. I'm still waiting to get an email back.

Deff post up and let me know. I was thinking of heading up there that weekend to grab a cold brew by the pool and hit some awesome roads. Went up last year around this time and it was epic.

If it is after 10 August, I'll be able to make it. Moving to Bragg end of july.

Got some good news. Received an email this morning from the owners of tailofthedragon.com. Southeast 86 Twins on the Dragon is booked on their Calender for the first weekend in July. Killboy.com will be out taking pics and we are the only scheduled event for that weekend.

Would you guys mind if I brought my friend with a 350z?

Any word on a Dragon Slayers discount at Fontana?

What else is a must see/do when you are up there? Last time I was there I was only there for two days, so I just hit the Dragon all day, with basically no time for anything else.

The calendar says July 5-7, what is the agenda? Since it is 3 day, perhaps something can be arranged with the East TN SCCA group.

Also be aware, the tail will likely be packed with tourists that weekend.

there is cherohala skyway , foot hills parkway , us 129 to blood mtn is a very nice day trip
lots of smaller roads in the area without the traffic of the dragon

A schedule is being worked on currently by our Tech Advisor. There may be tourist, but we are the only group on the calendar for that weekend.

What benefit is there to being on the calendar (ie organized group), vs. just showing up one day to drive the dragon?

If I see one person driving over the line then I will post mean things and tell your parents!!

I don't think I will have my innovative super charger by then. I did get tires at least!

The benefit is that we'd all be there together as a group of 86's.

I'm actually from Waynesville and still have family down there and grew up fishing at Fontana Dam. I'm taking delivery on my FR-S today and wouldn't mind making a weekend of things since i'll be off all that weekend from work. I'll keep an eye on this for now.

I meant more about being on the calendar, than being as a group.

There is no actual tangible benefit aside from maybe some parking area or organizational benefits at that location. The tail itself is public road. There is no requirement to "register" to drive it or otherwise.

You might not have it by the 2014 Twins on the Dragon event. :D

I'm in for this. I've been wanting to make a trip out there for awhile and, now, what better reason. :D

Hopefully I'll have wheels, tires and suspension by then.
