Blacked IN Tailights!
 

That's what I am calling it anyway, they are certainly not blacked OUT!

They were cut open, chrome painted black, and sealed back up. PLEASE don't PM me asking me to make you some (I didn't make them).

If someone were to do core swaps for these they could make a killing.. I'm thinking a gloss version of what Mr. BlaineWasHereHesEverywhere did would be perfect..

These are much better than blacking it out on the outside or even redouts.

Is it possible to blackout the red reflector on the side as well? Do these look less visible during night time?

Did you get them done somewhere here in sj? If so where at?

The lens and the way the light is projected is completely unchanged from stock so they are just as visible at night as stock lights.

Another local forum member made them, but this is the first set so I am going to them chime in on the possibility of more sets, and how that might work.

I'd be very interested in getting my hand on lights like these :)

OP-the lights look great! Far better than stock and also better than the nightshades/overlays route...

So question, how are you getting the housing etc apart? Is there a DIY anywhere on this? I think I will do this with my stock ones that are sitting for giggles, it does look interesting for sure.

Anyone done these in red? I'm curious to see how they look rather than a painted or tinted clear cover.

I think it will look too tacky with the housing being painted red. However the outside painted red always looks bad a$$
