Blacked IN Tailights!

That's what I am calling it anyway, they are certainly not blacked OUT!

They were cut open, chrome painted black, and sealed back up. PLEASE don't PM me asking me to make you some (I didn't make them).

Sure!

Or I'll just save you the trouble and give you mine since I may own a set of Tom's tails by then

I'm going to brag and legitimately say that I started the trend with a Photoshop that I did..

The OG's

and another I have requested

enough :threadjacked:

OP they look fantastic!

Norkoastal 05-14-2013 01:08 PM

If someone were to do core swaps for these they could make a killing.. I'm thinking a gloss version of what Mr. BlaineWasHereHesEverywhere did would be perfect..

DuMa 05-14-2013 01:18 PM

These are much better than blacking it out on the outside or even redouts.

Enraged21 05-14-2013 01:21 PM

Is it possible to blackout the red reflector on the side as well? Do these look less visible during night time?

rcm47 05-14-2013 01:31 PM

Did you get them done somewhere here in sj? If so where at?

The lens and the way the light is projected is completely unchanged from stock so they are just as visible at night as stock lights.

BlaineWasHere 05-14-2013 02:37 PM

Another local forum member made them, but this is the first set so I am going to them chime in on the possibility of more sets, and how that might work.

FReSh 05-14-2013 02:44 PM

I'd be very interested in getting my hand on lights like these :)

636 05-14-2013 02:56 PM

Any pictures of them on? I love this!

CTB727 05-14-2013 03:02 PM

That looks REALLY good. Kind of how it should've been from the factory.

reeves 05-14-2013 03:49 PM

Looks great! Gotta find time to get this done on mine's soon too.. the chrome is just painful for me to look at now.

Lonewolf 05-14-2013 07:50 PM

OP-the lights look great! Far better than stock and also better than the nightshades/overlays route...

kkakonn 05-14-2013 08:53 PM

First time i've seen someone do this with the tail lights. looks great man!

SMOKETREES 05-14-2013 11:05 PM

SOOOOO BADASSSSSSS! Wish i had the confidence to do this myself....

Takumi788 05-14-2013 11:35 PM

Subscribed. Some one needs to mass produce these asap.

OICU812 05-14-2013 11:45 PM

Looks cool, think I'm still liking the lens tinted but at least for this car it's different for sure. Gj;)

Enraged21 05-15-2013 07:35 AM

I wonder if the side reflector is removable though. That would be better. Kind of like the JDM ones

DarkCard 05-15-2013 11:53 AM

Probably the only thing I would do with my taillights, I don't like the aftermarkets and I don't like the overlays

hushypushy 05-15-2013 05:29 PM

Looks interesting...I've been debating on doing this. Any intentions of doing the same thing to the headlights?

Eventually. I thought the tails looked worse stock so I addressed them first.

Deadspool 05-18-2013 09:21 AM

What kind of paint did you use?

What? You quoted me saying I didn't make them.

OICU812 05-19-2013 04:58 AM

So question, how are you getting the housing etc apart? Is there a DIY anywhere on this? I think I will do this with my stock ones that are sitting for giggles, it does look interesting for sure.

Spidey 05-19-2013 11:26 PM

Anyone done these in red? I'm curious to see how they look rather than a painted or tinted clear cover.

I think it will look too tacky with the housing being painted red. However the outside painted red always looks bad a$$
