New LED marker light

I just found these on eBay today. Thoughts? Opinions? I think that they look good, but the $80.00 price tag is a little much for me. They are plug and play BTW.

Wo6M 05-14-2013 11:37 PM

I actually like this...

boredom.is.me 05-14-2013 11:47 PM

The cheapest I found was $89.99. I like them though.

boredom.is.me 05-14-2013 11:49 PM

There are also these.

I couldn't find another seller but the amber ones are more than twice the price =/

NigelJDM just did a group by for these if your looking. I think its closed, but not sure on regular price, though these look much nicer IMO

Wes 05-15-2013 12:12 AM

Thats not bad actually, I would definitely rock one, anyone wanna test them out? haha

OICU812 05-15-2013 01:02 AM

250 by time to your door, nice but abit of a bend job. Then there's ones for 80 as said man some folks on ebay plain out rip people off brutal. Only thing I don't like about their clear version for example is the bold black edging, while Nigel's or the gt86 clear are clear all way to edge which IMO is "cleaner" looking. The blacks however if that's what ya want are cool.

Completely different products my friend

MemphisR 05-15-2013 04:00 PM

I know right. I had only found the clear ones when I was looking, but when I saw the posted picks of the amber I was in love. Simply because I am looking at getting a Hot Lava FR-S. But the cost is insane. I would rather get the clear, which I think had free shipping, and put a tint or paint them amber.

But I don't think it helps our case when so many people on this, and I'm sure other, forums say things like "Take my money now" and the like. Not that I am blaming or trying to be rude to these people. I think the same thing frome time to time, but I think that there are some good quality parts that are worth the money, like the after market tail lights, but there are other things that people are just trying to face rape us because they "know" we will pay the price. Some will others won't. Any way, that's my rant for the day.

Thanks for your comments,
Memphis

^ Exactly my opinion on the price matter.

mrlewistan 05-17-2013 12:24 AM

looks good. i just installed the jdm clear ones today. Looking at that first pic, looks like you have to do some wire splicing (which makes sense as seeing the 3 leds inside) I think i prefer the jdm ones for the extra bit of convenience and if a bulb goes bad i dont have to buy an entire marker again

edit: nvm, i looked up the item, looks like the wires go to an plug that will just plug into the harness, no splicing needed. but i still think if a led goes out the whole thing might need to be replaced

Turbowned 05-17-2013 01:07 PM

Those look really nice... hope they come down in price, though. They shouldn't cost more than half as much as Colin taillights which are 4x the size of a product lol

BTW @MemphisR, I met a guy last week with a two-tone MK1 Supercharged just like yours! Love that color scheme :)

When was the last time you saw an LED go out?

Cheap ones? Pretty often... The good ones last an eternity.

@Turbowned Thanks. I am pretty proud of my little girl.

VictorKassil 06-11-2013 04:22 AM

I like these a lot.

zc06_kisstherain 06-11-2013 10:22 AM

I like to change my sdie marker too but cannot justify myself spedning $80+ for these.
if they're like $40 then i would jumped in

Sivtec 06-17-2013 02:03 PM

Still havent found the black housing, amber LED's anywhere for lower than 250 shipped, and I would also like some more pictures or videos. Does anyone have these yet?

idanvan 06-19-2013 09:30 AM

In case anyone is still looking, I found the amber ones for about 100 shipped. Same seller as the OP posted.

If only it was a bit darker. I think I'll buy these and then lightly tint them. Thanks for the link tho. Such a better price.

idanvan 06-19-2013 01:49 PM

No prob! Yea, not as dark as those other ones, but I'll sacrifice that for the drop in 150 bucks. Light tint would be just perfect.:happy0180:

Pull the trigger on these yet? I was wondering if these would be direct PnP or if some splicing would be in order.

It says they are PnP but I am skeptical. I did order a set. Ill let you know when I get them, Still haven't shipped yet. But I have faith considering the provider has a good ebay score.

PhreshhWun 06-21-2013 07:04 PM

Ordered a set of these two nights ago, will post pics when it arrives !!

I absolutely love these but $100 at the lowest is still about twice what I would ever pay for them. I can't wait until the car's another year old and the aftermarket price gouging tapers off.

cdo221 06-24-2013 02:47 AM

These look good. As for the questions about installation, it looks like it's direct plug and play. Look at this pic:
http://i.ebayimg.com/t/2012-2013-SUB...0rw~~60_12.JPG

You can see the wedge bulb base - these would just hook up directly to the factory socket if that picture is accurate.

They shipped on the 25th, can't wait !

PhreshhWun 06-29-2013 06:05 PM

Just arrived in the mail, can't wait to get em' installed tomorrow ! Will post pictures !

Sivtec 06-29-2013 07:06 PM

I got mine installed yesterday. Looks good, stick out a bit even comparing them to the jdm ones but I think they look amazing to the stock ones. Very simple and plug and play. There was a small issue with the metal clips however. If you have that problem just pop the ones from the old side marker.

Foobar 06-29-2013 07:19 PM

Would love to see what these look like on a car - someone put up some pics!

Haha! I will. I didn't want to take pictures of a dirty car, and with all of these dust storms. I promise I will put them on tonight. Hooray for procrastinating. I will say, I like them over all others.

Sivtec 07-11-2013 12:18 AM

Well its the best I could do at night. They are pretty bright for my phone but you get the idea. They stick out a bit from the front (obviously considering they have tubes in them) but I actually kinda like it.
