Must see this vid when I get home! :thanks:

holy crap that sounds so good. i gotta get borla uels asap. my only concern with it would be that its so loud everyones gonna think your trying to race them when your just cruising or trying to pass them lol. thats one of the biggest cons of having an exhaust on a slow car imo

Batman 05-09-2013 05:17 PM

I always pretend like i'm going to race them and then don't, they fly ahead of me, and get pulled over.

Thank you, valentine one.

Also, that exhaust sounds like pure beautiful riding a unicorn over a rainbow, i want that setup.

Which front pipe do you have? I've been looking at the Borla UEL, Borla over/front pipe, and a custom straight quad tip and J2 quad to switch it out with.

Tujin 05-09-2013 05:32 PM

It's the J2 front pipe as well. I'll probably look into a resonated front pipe soon, below 3k rpm is a bit raspy. I'm waiting to see how it sounds after it "breaks in" though

I was waiting for someone to post this header/exhaust combo. Thanks for posting!

Neekowahhhh 05-12-2013 11:44 AM

All that awesome from a 4 cylinder.,

Ohh how I love

Enraged21 05-12-2013 12:15 PM

sounds too throaty. But sounds a lot better at higher rpms.

do headers always have the "droning" sound in the cabin?

There is such a thing as too throaty on an exhaust? Tell me, how many Civics have you owned that has brainwashed you into such a thought?

HA. Never owned a civic. But I do see a lot of fart cans where I live.

BTW I'm not saying I dislike the sound. Just to throaty at lower rpms for me.

Tujin 05-12-2013 02:19 PM

I agree, I'm going to put an additional resonator in on the frontpipe

What's it sounding like now with a couple months on the exhaust? Still too raspy?

Also, are you tuned with the header to remove the CEL?

Tujin 08-02-2013 10:31 PM

I replaced the j2 frontpipe with stock, rasp is completely gone. I love how the car sounds now.

I'm running a spacer on the secondary o2 sensor but it still throws a CEL randomly every once in a while. I need to tune it, I'm just dragging my feet due to the price.

I hate that graspy sound, i want it sound like a GRRRR sound

Joakim3 08-03-2013 01:47 PM

And now you have reconfirmed my future exhaust setup

Man, I really want that Borla UEL, but the whole reason I got the BRZ to replace the WRX is that the WRX was a frankenstein car and is a PITA to deal with around cops and smog checks here in CA.

I kept the stock header... since the exhaust ports face the ground, the header is pretty easy to swap out for emissions once every year or every other year as needed ;)

Yeah, it wasn't too hard to drop the downpipe on the WRX, but just the fact that I'd have to plan an entire day to do a smog check, and get nervous every time I saw a cop, was enough to make me not want to mod anymore. But it does sound so gorgeous.

#CaliProblems lol

I'm not worried about the cop factor here, just the emissions but I think new cars are exempt for like 3 years or something. And here I can just get the reflash to delete the CEL and pass anyway. For obd2 they just plug in and do a readiness test

How are you liking the exhaust? Is it on the louder side or quiet side?

Tujin 08-03-2013 10:12 PM

I took a new video today, of what it sounds like with the stock frontpipe reinstalled. Ill try to upload it tomorrow (at work right now)

Definitely on the louder side. But I love it. All the other Arizona86 guys seem to like it too :D

Actually, that reminded me that California was supposed to (and I think did) switch to an OBD-II & visual check as of this year. No more sniffer! I need to confirm that the change did happen.

Then you'd just need to put some go-fast mods in it :)

Vincenttam 05-07-2014 05:03 AM

Hows it sound on the inside with the uel and j2? I wanna get this setup so bad. As specially cruising too. When im in neutral cruising i can barely hear my j2, but when i floor it.. jizzzzzz

Lemar58 07-04-2014 05:11 AM

I have this exhaust and it's too drony on the highway. I think I'm going to put stock front pipe back on.
