SUNday May 19th Autocross

Harry Grove Stadium, Frederick, MD is the location of the next autocross on SUNDAY (NOT Saturday) May 19th.

Registration and tech inspection will be at 8:00 and will promptly close at 8:45 to try to accommodate the full field, while still giving 6 runs. You must be DONE by 8:45. So if you arrive at 8:00 you won't have a problem. Don't arrive at the last minute.

The event fee for the SUNday autocross is $30 for members and $40 for non-members at this event.

On-line Reservation System

Member reservations (or participants that will join the club upon showing up) for any events can be made at any time at http://www.capitaldrivingclub.com/ under the Schedule Tab. Open reservations for non-members for this event begin Friday May 10th.

New Members

We will be accepting new members at this event. If you plan to join the club at this event, you may make a reservation at this time by doing the following:

1. Use "0" as the member number (a permanent number will be assigned to you after you join and you will get a temporary number for this event)

2. TYPE "I will be joining the club at this event" in the NOTES Section when making you reservation.

The annual membership is $30 and is good for 12 months from the date you join.

Thanks man! My fiancee wasn't too pleased with my sunburn from the last autocross, but I promised I'd look normal by the wedding lol.

I signed up. I'm going to try to get a front bar, camber bolts and an alignment before then.

What brand/size FSB?

Yeah you mentioned you liked it a lot and from what I can see searching the forums it seems to be well liked by everyone, so that's probably what I'll end up going with. :thumbsup:

I can talk to the organizers and see there should be a FRS/BRZ class. We would have to decide what modifications would qualify (adding forced induction would not be fair, do we use a tire index as we do in small bore, do we allow other cars to join in the class, etc).

My guess is that the organizers can discuss all the pros and cons.

Location is 50 miles from my house, yet time to get there is an hour and 30 minutes. MD is sure weird.

Once you get onto 495/tysons corner

It should only be about 45 Minutes to 55 minutes

Someone should ask the H.G. people about drifting. (Since they've yet to reply to an email since our rental lmao)

The roster is looking pretty full. Any idea if there is a max number of cars per heat? I also forgot to put in the '0' and 'will join club at event'.

I may not be able to make it on Sunday. My FR-S is torn apart, and the BRZ may not be here by then.

What what! I know you were thinking about swapping for a MT...I guess it's going down. You need any help stocking out let me know...I'm just around the corner.

I do need a OEM front strut top hat though, if someone doesn't want/need theirs. As I broke one of the three mount studs awhile back by over torquing it. I think @Pure Automotive is going to help me out.

Are you still sticking to STX I assume or coming back to RT?

Don't have extra top hat....what about the dip tho...you peeling it all off?

BRZ will be in STX. Same parts. I should have time to get the break-in and parts installed before the next SCCA solo event.

My FR-S buyer is taking it stock, but dipped orange.

I may dip the BRZ yellow... but not sure, as I do still have a gallon of orange left. :)

I know this is probably not the best place to ask. I wanted to try out autocross for a very very long time already, but never really have a chance or the car to try it. so what is the best approach to get similar with it or even trying it?

COme to a event bright and early and stick with us/get one of us to ride in the car with you or a instructor from CDC.

I have a stock top hat you may have.

It shouldn't be hard to get a knowledgable person to ride with you till you get the hang of it. Everyone at CDC is very friendly, especially the twins folk.

If Pure Automotive doesn't come through for me, I will hit you up. I certainly appreciate it.

Looks like we've got 12 BRZ/FRS signed up so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how the manuals run vs the automatics.
