Guess who I tracked with

at the FT86cup track exhibition at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway...

https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...46914962_n.jpg

All I can say is :eyebulge::drool::clap:

And that they have been testing this kit rigorously. They are thoroughly testing and making sure it is 100% perfect before releasing the product. Yesterday was hot weather track testing. 104 degrees on the track at Chuckwalla! I put 95 octane in my car just for some extra comfort level and my engine is completely stock...

Good to see an aftermarket FI company out doing track testing for their product.

I would be curious to know what changes (if any) they made to the cooling systems and what kind of temperatures they were running.

As would most of us....problem is they said eff you guys (probably) and ditched the forum without a word months ago leaving us all hanging.

I can't give specifics but what I can say is no crazy cooling system was needed for 104 deg chuckwalla track testing. Temps were good.

I've seen it in person also so I can confirm this as well. Nothing crazy about it all in regard to supporting mods. Most everything done to it is suspension. The kit is solid in appearance in person and pretty factory-ish looking. My guess is they have since gone with a different tuner and started from scratch with the tunes, hence no release yet. This is pure speculation though. It's really the only thing I can think of that would have held this project up. The actual mechanical portion of the equation is clearly in production from other pics posted and you don't make that much product unless you feel that part is solid. The tune is the variable. Bummer they dropped the forum all together but it won't matter once they drop the kit. Everyone will be buzzing about it again I am sure.

Sonolin 05-06-2013 03:11 PM

Nice!

I want to see that engine bay

Can't wait to see some more dynos and for this thing to really hit the market..

I agree, although I am sure they just decided to not be posting stuff up until they are closer to release. Every single post I have seen with them just resulted in everyone saying "we don't care unless you post a dyno" and unless they are ready to post dyno result they probably just decided it was better to not post at all.

I am looking forward to it coming out since it is the only roots type S/C I have seen mention of. I am really not a fan of centrifugal S/C's and turbos on this car seem way too daunting for track use. Unfortunately I'll probably never buy one since I don't want to prep a SM car. :(

Jeff86 05-06-2013 04:54 PM

Nice to see it still lurking.

AJ@ECSMotorsports 05-06-2013 05:00 PM

All the vendors should get together, and do a track test with the Innovative Supercharger, Vortech Supercharger, AVO turbocharger, Full Blown turbocharger, Accelerated Performance turbo, new PTuning turbocharger, and FA20club turbo.

That's something I'd pay to see

Air strip, drag strip, we should just get a strip club while we're there.

Pete 05-06-2013 07:28 PM

Once upon a time I really wanted this kit. I'd still like to see it come out and kick ass. That would make a lot of members happy.

I really doubt a company would say that to there customer base. They probably got tired of keyboard tough guys haggling them. So rather then spend time doing damage control on the internet they are out developing the kit.

Great to see them out putting some real time on the kit.

Yea! It takes a lot of money for a company to do the P/R on this forum.

I know with all the time I waste on this forum I could put it into my job and work 10-20 hours overtime at least lol...

Sniper2606 05-07-2013 02:02 AM

I hope they have some updates soon

Not really, no one haggled them UNTIL they kept promising and missing dates.

Solid business 101, NEVER promise a date to a customer that you'll miss, and if you miss one unintentionally NEVER EVER promise and miss another one.

But yeah, they have missed like 5 and it hasn't been by a couple of days, more like months. Oh and the counter on that missed date keeps growing.

The funniest thing in this type thread is reading all the speculation (good and bad) of people coming to their own shot in the dark conclusions of what has happened to this kit. I can't say exactly what I know but I was trusted with information when Dyno tune for it started, but the only thing I can say is that they have dropped the ball big time with empty promises.

mrk1 05-07-2013 11:18 AM

I cant argue at all with missing a date. However as a company would you rather have people get cranky over not have a number or people be pissed when there is a issue with a product due to it being rushed to market. I like to believe people are honest and think Innovate has a good reason for the "delay", if they choose to share the reason is up to them.

You are still missing part of the point here. It is not the fact that there are no numbers yet....

It is the fact of missed dates once, twice, etc. and no explanation for it. Hey, shit happens to anyone and on every business. They just need to be real; come in and say, " Hey guys, sorry for missing the set date, we ran into some issues and have moved out the official Dyno day. Will update later when we have a set date".

That simple statement, without sharing anything, would have been more than enough to most people. It shows they care about the customers who were eagerly waiting for the product information. It's that simple really.

I'm SURE they do care about the customers waiting for their product, but they have not handled it well. I am also sure once it is released, (even though they have already lost some sales here and there because of all this ordeal), if the kit produces good numbers it will sell like hot cakes.

Greetings All!

As always, we appreciate your enthusiasm for our product. With constant development and honing; installation of data collection, analysis of data logs, swapping of parts, driving, etc. We are very busy both with this kit and our other responsibilities. Often we simply just do not have the time, or man power, to be on the forum. However, we will always do our best to respond to your PM's as soon as we can.

We have mentioned this before, but it bears repeating. It is absolutely critical that this product be as near perfect as is possible prior to release. We do not believe in making you, the consumer, a guinea pig for product development that should have been refined before release. This is why we will not take a single deposit, payment or pre-order before the product is 100% ready and meets our standards for fitment and function. Even if that means delaying projected release dates.

When we have some specific and desired information regarding the product, you can be certain it will be posted as soon as possible. Now it is time to get back to work. :)

Well yeah, just like that one. BUT, it should have happened quickly after the first missed date and not have any more missed dates.......

But the way it happened was, several missed dates and a good amount of time after that, the aforementioned post 3-8-13

The prodigal son has returned. Shall I slay the fatted calf, and shall we rejoice? Shall we look for a Q3 or Q4 ship date for the Stage 1 kit?

No, there has not been any other specific release date mentioned by Innovate after that post. I sure hope it happens sooner rather then later, but as other posters have mentioned it is better for the kit to be "right" then for it to be available "right now". :happy0180:

I'm not talking about a release date. It was about "numbers will be release this date", "Dyno will be done this date" and boom, missed dates again and again. Empty promises and with no explanation or posts about it for weeks.

But that's fine. I am not here to rehash the whole ordeal for the millionth time. But please, don't try and cover it like it didn't happen because it did. It was in youtube comments, it was in posts in the forum. Several forums members lived through it in closed threads.

sw20kosh 05-07-2013 03:20 PM

Sportsguy, lets not turn this thread upside down.:happy0180:

They don't have a big forum presence.

That being said, they are extremely friendly, excited for this application to be in the hands of community members, and open about the progress of the kit when talking to them in person.

Maybe @robispec will give a glimpse into what this kit feels like as he got to drive the innovate car on the track. :w00t:

I did get a ride in @jdzumwalt 's vortech'd 86 and .... I am sold on FI. This car with 20-30% more torque is just perfect. I have video of him pulling away hard from me on the straights I can upload later. It's awesome!

Sounds like someone needs better engineers and PR.

DavidV 05-07-2013 03:35 PM

Were they running the intercooler? From my understanding, the intercooler was not doing exactly what they had expected from it (before they went MIA) and we havent had any news about Stg 1/ stg 2 differences etc in more than a long time.

If only John was still posting teaser videos from his time tuning with them -_-
