Which muffler for Nameless axleback exhaust?

I'll be going with the 4" tip:

http://shop.namelessperformance.com/np-tip-options/

I like the slash cut but it's only available in 5"

If you look, the 4" tips are the only option available for FRS/BRZ.

The mufflers should be based on what you want. The bigger the muffler, the quieter it will be (smaller muffler, louder it will be).

But which one should I get? :)

4" mufflers are all the same size, arent they?

If you plan to do other exhaust mods nameless will tell you to get the 5"

Sportsguy said only 4" is available but according to the site, I can get a 5"

Plus I thought the muffler would make no difference in performance. I dont want a super loud exhaust.

Tips vs mufflers.

only 4" tips are available.

5" mufflers are available.

slowbrz 04-27-2013 02:55 PM

What is the difference between the muffler and tip?

youcantseeme24 04-27-2013 09:09 PM

if you want one just get the 5" mufflers

The tip is exactly what it sounds like, it's the tip of the exhaust that sticks out of the bumper. The muffler is also exactly what it sounds like, and is the muffler.

It should be pretty clear by looking at this picture:

Yes, as previously posted, the tips are the hole that you look at in your bumper (the end of the axleback). The muffler is the round cans seeing in the pic above.

So I guess I should go with the 5" muffler if I want to get the downpipe/cat later on? How much louder is the 5" compared to the 4"?

Thanks, that makes much more sense. I always thought the tips and muffler was the same thing.

Its all in your taste. Do you like LOUD? or you prefer as quiet as possible?

You welcome :)

I prefer neither; I want something in between. Basically loud enough but wont get me pulled over.

Thanks for your replies on this thread.

Do you know if the Nameless 2.5" w/4" mufflers would still be good for a daily driver, if I don't plan on adding any other pipes?

I want some sound, but nothing annoying.

Thank you!

Yes it will be fine. Its not that big of a difference between the two, especially if not adding any other piece.
