Unfortunately no suspension set up at this time as my driveway has a very aggressive steep incline that I'm not too sure is 'drop' friendly, the plastic underbody cover slightly scrapes as it is everytime I drive out/in...so I have to get a new house if I want to lower my car

Nice wheel choice!!

I was in the same situation as you, i can scrape my current driveway at stock ride height if i don't angle it in. I'm moving to a new place in 3 weeks :)

It's like the wheels are fighting me! the rays air valves that came with the wheels were leaking air through the rubber seal (which was weirdly only a one sided seal) so workshop guy said I'd need to hunt some down before he could finish the job, I managed to get some this morning although now the tyre fitter said he's not sure if he can squeeze me in again today! for FU$^SAKE!! its looking like tomorrow is when I'll have them on.:mad0260::bonk::iono:

GC GTS Aero Kit 05-01-2013 06:36 AM

have a look at my thread I have them fitted in 18" on my car already

nix 05-05-2013 10:08 AM

@lokvo I would get a new workshop/tyre shop. ANY tyre shop should be able to provide you with ANY type of valve stem to suit your wheel, for cheap. Eg. For my rays 57DR we had to chop the oem valves for paint. Tyre power then charged me $15 for 4x stainless short barrel stem installs as part of tyre fitting. If they can't do similar, they are lazy and uncompetitive.

Nice wheels GL.

Finally got them fitted! So to sum it all up, 17x8.5 +45 Volk rays TE37SL wrapped in Toyo proxes R1R in 245/40/17. Happy with the fitment, bit more of a beefier look. Also added some pics of the grazio & Co black chrome emblems on. Next items to be installed are the Invidia N1 catback exhaust and Invidia front pipe (catted), should receive them by Thursday! can't wait, the external noise from the car is just too quiet for me lol. Incidentally anybody know where I can get centre cap adaptors that'll fit the 65mm bore on the wheels? just realized I'm might get some rusting issues without a cap.

Xauterus 05-10-2013 05:37 AM

Looks great!

Wow the bigger wheels seem to make the suspension look much higher. I guess it is cause they fill the arches much more.

A bit of a clean up and spray can will tidy up the hub area and stop it rusting. Mine is untouched with no caps and its ok. Still undecided on the caps.

Love the rims.

Making me think twice about getting RPF1. How are you with fitment with that width and offset? How close are you to the front springs/struts?

Basically in the same position. Can't change suspension much because of my driveway.

I was looking at RPF1s myself, especially in the SBC colour (Dark shiny gunmetal chrome) but had to get that on special order or something, didn't have the patience lol. As for fitment, it's bang on just right, I can fit about a fingers width from inner tyre to suspension strut, no rubbing on full lock (although that may change if I lower it). I was surprised with the offset, I thought it'd be tucked in still like stock as not much different in offset +45 to +48, but it's just a shade under being flush, gives a nice aggressive look without being over the top with poke, although this could be attributed to the wide tyres I put on (245). And yes steep driveways suck balls :mad0260:

canon_spec 05-14-2013 09:31 PM

Awesome good to here! The aggressiveness really suits the car well.
