86 already in Aus for TMCA Assessment
Old news for some already. I just thought I'd link the original thread to our local forum....
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...047#post122047 http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/8818/viewnm.jpg Photo comes from a Toyota Aus employee at TMCA head office, Caringbah, Sydney. See original source: http://forums.toyspeed.org.nz/viewtopic.php?t=85874&start=220&sid=aff99da3936370 a6cab05f7698363172 Correct me if I'm wrong, but the white 86 looks like a G series? No LED headlights or spoiler and simple rims - looking pretty stock. Good news for those with a budget. And the red one looks full spec - LED headlights and a full body kit... Hopefully Toyota Aus decides to sell both! |
White with the 16" is G but it's hard to say what the red one is. You are right with the bodykit too.
|
I work near there. perhaps I should try jump the fence for some sneaky pics!
|
please do
|
That looks more like a small Magazine or similar Photoshoot rather than "assessment"...
Im pretty sure i know the owner of that grey Altezza RS200 |
the red is nurb spec. u see the big spoiler on it
|
SXE-10 is still such sexy car... ^^
Might scrap my pre order and buy one of them again instead... lol |
apparently someone snapped this on the docks at Wollongong over the weekend!!
http://www.postimg.com/60000/photo-59292.jpg looks like we are getting US spec front LEDs above the foggies and no frameless rear view mirror..... |
I see the orginal post and photo on the Toyspeed NZ forum have been removed. Oops, busted!
However, Toyota Aus posted this on their facebook page on Feb 1... http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/hprofile...05433516_q.jpg Toyota Australia What are you doing today? We are experiencing the 86 in the lead up to its Australian launch! http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...87436997_n.jpg Don't you just love being drip fed? Toyota's marketing gurus are milking it! |

Dammit, Australia always gets Americanised. sucks....LOL!
I had a thought of what i wanted to do with my 86 but it'll void the warranty and going to be really hard to get. swap the 86 headlights with the BRZ.... ([Oo> <oO]) |

BRZ headlights shouldn’t be “hard” to get, just expensive. Make a phonec all “Hi, is this Subaru parts? I would like a pair of BRZ headlights. Thank you”
Done. But they won’t be cheap. Anyway, I didn’t think they were a straight swap? |
And it shouldn’t void your warranty either, just the warranty on the headlights and potentially the headlight looms.
They can’t void the cars warranty because of different lights. Generally with regards to warranty, if you replace a part with something no factory and/or aftermarket there are only warranty issues if there is a failure of a component directly related to the component that is no longer factory. EG. Cars with AFM’s.. Replace air filter with a K&N style filter, oil soaks AFM, AFM burns out, engine runs lean and blows up.. Engine not warranted due to failure being a direct result of aftermarket component. However fi you do the same and you spin a bottom end bearing and it is clearly not related to the air filter, then it is still warranted. You put aftermarket wheels on and you develop a steering rack leak... May not warrant due to potentially heavier wheels and bigger tyres putting more load on. That sort of thing. Contrary to popular assumption/belief, doing modifications doesn’t directly void a warranty. It's not a audm production model. Just for ADR testing. They can't produce before its approved ;)

What is that under the door handle?
