Audi Quattro

Just thought I'd show you guys a cool video I found. Video is kinda old, but it shows the Audi Quattro concept. The interesting thing is that it weights ~2800 pounds, producing 400+ hp with a 5 cylinder. That to me seems like amazing numbers! To me, this seems like a slightly heavier 86, but with TWICE the power! Ofc this car will be way out of the 86's price range if it ever comes into production. But I bet this could give the BMW 1M and M3 some healthy competition. :P

Yeah, kinda. Looks bulky. And it's AWD instead of FR. :) Cool looking though, I like that all digital instrument cluster!

Front looks like a Shaolin Monk's mustache.

Eureka 01-26-2012 09:04 PM

o_o.. What does that look like? lol Monks don't have facial hair.

2 seaters, ~1300 kg with 400 hp turbo engine, accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds. Pretty fast car, but thanks no thanks.

PS: Monks from Shaolin Temple can bear beard.

Not sure what their price estimate is, but I would take this over a Audi TT without a question.

Whoa looks awesome. I love that Audi look

It is a concept. How would they have a price when it isn't even going to production?

OrbitalEllipses 01-28-2012 07:18 PM

Because they considered a limited production run based on the concept...

Exactly. No point in having that kind of model competition. I'd love to see another Audi Sport Quattro...affordable AWD turbo powuh.

NESW20 01-28-2012 11:56 PM

i'd rather have the 84 sport quattro :D

from the back it looks like a dodge charger.. so square.

OrbitalEllipses 01-30-2012 05:55 AM

There's something about square cars that's interesting. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm convinced a lot of cool cars from the 80s (and thus boxy) actually look a lot worse to the non-enthusiast because they don't know the history and capability of such cars. For instance, ask your woman-friend if she thinks the 037 Stradale is a nice looking machine and I bet she'll say no, even if it is a Group B monster. Same thing with the Audi Quattro.

Add MK1 MR2 to the list. I think they are gorgeous but most don't agree.
