P&L Catted headers and Nameless catted Front pipe. *FIXED*

I thought i share a video of my set up with you guys. P&L Catted headers and Nameless catted Front pipe w/ resonator. Thank you guys fore the help. I only was able to make one video today, but i think it is a very good set up for DD, quiet under 4000rpm while cruising, and realy screams WOT and High revs.

@shu5892001 you can delete the old videos, I would also appreciate it if you told me how to post embed videos.

Sounds like the dry clutch on my Ducati.

Did you check for leaks on all of the flanges? Headers typically are thinner metal so you will hear some new sounds. Ill let someone chime in on this though.

naikaidriver 04-23-2013 11:02 AM

Yup, sounds like a leak at one of your flanges. Did you over-torque the bolts?

Mine didn't sound like that. It's most likely an exhast leak like they said.

djdnz 04-23-2013 11:24 AM

Exhaust leak, make sure you loosely tighten all your bolts before torquing them. Did you install any new gaskets? If you drive like this for long enough, eventually when you take it apart you will find out where it was leaking from, there will be exhaust soot making its way out of one of the flanges.

Video two almost would lead me to believe you have a bit of vibration/resonance as well. Fix the exhaust leak first and then if it doesn't go away see if there is some heat shielding rubbing. Could just be a raspy header/exhaust combo though...

i used the old gaskets, but okay thanx for the inputs. I will tighten all the bolts, and look for any leaks.

Similar situation (I'm running the FA20Club headers). I can't see your vids at work but I had an exhaust leak. Replaced the gaskets today and it's much better, still sounds like there might be a small leak at the V-band.

Don't just tighten the bolts unless they need it!

If you didn't use a torque wrench when you installed the header, you could have over-torqued the bolts, which could warp the flanges. You could also end up shearing off one of your flange bolts and with an aluminum head... this is BAD!

Before you tighten anything, look around both your flanges and your collector for black, carbon scoring. This will point you where your leak is. Once you find the leak, replace that gasket with a new one, get a torque wrench and tighten it properly.

I'm not picking on you, just helping make sure you don't inadvertently make your problems bigger!

Fixed

swift996 04-23-2013 07:46 PM

Check the V-band clamp too..I ended up having to tighten it up more than I was expecting but some have warned of over torquing.

Xdragonxb0i 04-23-2013 10:42 PM

Just want to say thank you for your input, i uploaded a new video. Sorry for the bad video quality, I recorded with my phone while driving a manuel

RD1428 04-24-2013 07:17 AM

try tightening down your v-band clamps, if that doesnt fix it try putting some soapy water on your flanges or where your v-band clamps go while as soon as you start it so its not burning hot yet.

RD1428 04-24-2013 07:17 AM

nvm guess its fixed

Ingen 04-24-2013 07:23 AM

I can't watch the vid at work b/c youtube doesn't work here. That said, do you have the stock exhaust from the nameless front pipe back? If so, I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR IT, THIS IS MY PLAN. lol.

Thanks for posting it!

fenton 04-24-2013 09:12 AM

It sounds a little buzzy is that just your phone maybe doing that?

Would be interesting it hear from outside too :)

my plan was to go with one of these longtube headers and overpipe downpipe with hemoltz res.
