NYC / LI Area Vortech

Anyone around NYC / Long Island got a Vortech kit on the way? Would love to see and/or help out with the install if so. Mine's on order and if I could get some hands-on experience of the install before I receive it, that'd be pretty helpful. Thanks!

Mine is ordered and on the way as well... i hope i get it soon!

Not sure where in NJ you're at, but if it's close to NYC and you're interested in having an extra pair of hands available for the install, let me know. I'm in the middle of LI so it'll be a trek either way, but if it's close enough perhaps it could work out.

p00mba 04-23-2013 02:07 PM

yup i actually live near NYC and work in NYC. I'm in Jersey city so as soon as you get out of the holland or lincoln its about 10 mins depending on traffic.

I wouldnt mind an extra set of hands at all, the more the merrier i say, we can even have a BBQ at my house and have other members come by if they'd like!

Kochinopride 04-23-2013 02:10 PM

I'm on River Rd, Edgewater NJ. Might be getting a BRZ to compliment the FRS- I could help out and what not. Got a Turbo FR-S myself.

Chewie4299 04-23-2013 02:40 PM

I recently had a chance to work with one of these kits. It's surprisingly easy to install. Honestly the hardest part is removing the bumper and I've done that a few times now.

If you're thinking of doing an install/BBQ I may be able to come. How are you on tools? You don't need much but a ramp or jack stands helps a ton when it comes to bumper removal.

I could leave my FR-S at home and toss a grill in the back of my jeep..... :)

Kochinopride 04-23-2013 02:42 PM

LoL, we're going to have a BBQ meet just to install an "easy to install" supercharger lol. Anyone got a portable dyno? Let's go all out :D

p00mba 04-23-2013 03:09 PM

I have a good set of ratchet set and a couple breaker bars.

I have 4 jack stands so that won't be an issue and a nice low profile jack that i just recently purchased from harbor freight!

let me know and we can get this going, as far as the dyno, if someone has a portable one why not? lol

Foobar 04-23-2013 04:03 PM

At this rate, we might generate enough interest to have each person bolt on a single part and call it a day ;)

When do you plan on doing the install?

Will there be beer?? LOL

Chewie4299 04-23-2013 04:10 PM

lol I was half joking. It's barely a two man job.

p00mba 04-23-2013 04:19 PM

Of course there will be beer! liquor store literally across the street from my house.

As far as when i'm doing the install, as soon as i get the goods i'll be ready to start whenever.

Yes this is a def. As soon as i get the kit in we can setup a date, i mean if there is enough ppl and someone else would like to get thier kit installed the same day i'm down for that too, there's enough space for two cars in my back yard comfortably and still have space to hang and drink. :happy0180:

zc06_kisstherain 04-23-2013 05:30 PM

If your install schedule fits my schedule, i will stop by and give a hand as well. I always like this kind of meet. I am interested in Votech S/C so :)

dem00n 04-23-2013 05:51 PM

Can i come?

Even though i'm not of age.

brichard0625 04-23-2013 09:15 PM

Im actually down for this too. I really want to see the vortech in action..Just give a heads up on the day and i might shoot by for this

p00mba 04-24-2013 12:54 AM

Yup as soon as I get the shipping confirm from visconti, I will make sure to update this thread and find the best date that works for everyone.

Foobar 04-27-2013 11:59 AM

Checked in with Brian and he says they're waiting on a part to get back in stock before they ship out this next batch of kits. His current ETA is shipping out on the 30th, but apparently this date has slipped a few times already.

Monday. Not sure when I'll have some time to install it though, I've got a lot of stuff coming up. Was hoping I would've been done with this install by last weekend :(

i agree, let me know how your calendar's looking, we could possibly do install at the same time...

campy 05-08-2013 04:40 PM

I also wanna check it out but I feel like if more people keep coming, it's gonna have a higher turnout than the AC meet haha
