Advanced driving course

The thread started by light got me thinking...

How about we group together and propose to Toyota SA that all 86 owners get a day of skid pan and track experience

* It would be a great way to promote the brand
* Safer/skilled 86 drivers would reduce the chances of fatal accidents - Toyota wouldn't want the 86 to be known as a "widow maker"

sav 04-22-2013 04:29 AM

Good idea! I was at their driving academy the other day and one of teh guys from Toyota seemed keen on the idea/

isnotmyfault 04-22-2013 04:58 AM

I'm up for that

Vic_RSA 04-22-2013 05:35 AM

I think it would be a great idea - my one skidpan outing revealed how unforgiving these cars can be, and that there is so much more to be learn't...

RueFT86 04-22-2013 05:41 AM

I'm also keen on this.

riyal 04-22-2013 05:41 AM

sounds like a great idea. waiting for the skidpan event next weekend but im dead certain, i need alot of help learning about her.

Theres a few places that offer it but most dont offer "in your car training", either that or i've been reading wrong.

Im keen on joining in on a course, heres hoping.

JouMaSeHoes 04-22-2013 05:58 AM

That's the idea mate but the difference here is a sponsored TSA event for 86ers.

Next step is to contact some TSA employee to help make this happen. Preferably someone on the same wavelength as Tada San. :D

GeeTee86 04-22-2013 07:57 AM

If you have that kind of contacts mate, I'd be there like a bear

Get a hold of Leo Kok. I've spoken to him via Twitter and he seems to be a bit a of a petrolhead. I think he is in the events department.

WATIKA 04-22-2013 10:38 AM

sieglapj 04-22-2013 10:48 AM

This is SA. By the time this happens you would have had your first service already. If it even does happen.

GavinAnt 05-06-2013 02:19 PM

I'd like to join, if you'll admit a BRZ twin!

Vic_RSA 05-07-2013 08:22 AM

tm86 05-09-2013 05:15 AM

Jason Hine from Barloworld Tygervalley says that he's registered but can't post yet so I'm posting on his behalf.

He says that he would like to help us organise this and wants ideas/suggestions from us on what we would like. He also needs an idea of number of owners that would be supporting this event.
