Cape Town Man Dies after Crashing Toyota 86
 

Hey all,

Just wanted to let you know, a guy went off the R44 in between Pringle's bay & Gordon's bay an 86. Didn't make it. Not sure if he was a member here. A friend sent me these pics because it was an 86.

It's an awesome twisty road and I have tailed(pushed) an A5 Quattro along there with a huge smile on my face, but I guess it's a reminder that we are not on a track and bad stuff can happen if we don't :respekt: our cars.

shit, that's bad...
i've done that road a few times myself, great fun but no room for error.
since there's no licence plate i'm guessing it's someone who just got the car and was not used to it.
damn shame...

There are roads like this all over the world, not all on the coast. It seem like fun, but the risk is far too high.

Have fun cruising these lovely drives safely and then go hell for leather at the track. At least if you come off it is a lot safer.

Damm man that really sucks. I feel bad for the guy just trying to have a good time...

I guess that car is going to rot there until it gets washed out to sea? how could they get it out?

Last one probably taken after extraction. They cut the roof off to get him out.

Did the driver survive, I hope its only RIP for the car. Sounds like they didn't.

Unfortunately the driver did not survive. RIP :(
They only discovered the body 2 days later after his parents declared him missing.
He took ownership of the car a week before the accident.

Its a sad loss... A message to 86 owners to take it easy on dangerous roads... RIP horrible sight to see.

My friend drives that road on his way to work, first 2 pics were taken a day after with a mobile, 3rd was a few days after, he said the waves were knocking the car apart against the rocks.

That is sad to see.

The Guy returned from a Golf day and the NSRI reported he only had ons cut on his face... There was no brake marks and still not sure what happened. He had water in his lungs so he could have drowned. yes sad. The latest was that the black box and car will be retreved to investigate further.
