Ordered/Ordering Series 10 FR-S?

Just gathering info on ordering of the Series 10 FR-S. For those who have already placed an order, please do add your Order Date, Dealer (if that's allowed in here), Location & Expected Date of delivery. More info the better.

I am in MA and haven't found a dealer who is ready to take in the Order. The 2 dealers I talked to had no idea if they were going to be allocated any of the limited number of cars. :iono:

Are you talking about the Scion 10 series? The limited editions for Scion's 10 year anniversary. They haven't announced a Release Series yet from what I've seen.

Yes, I am referring to the Series 10. I thought they are meant to replace the Release Series this year. Updated the title...

They haven't opened orders in my area yet either.

On the Waiting list of Longo Toyota in El monte, CA since April 1st. Expected Date of delivery: late May/early June

SpyderDan 04-18-2013 11:41 PM

I put down a deposit at Cabe Toyota in Long Beach a few weeks ago (right after it was first announced), but they did not have any allocation info yet. I just wanted to make sure I was #1 on the list, since it isn't likely that most dealers will get more than 1.

marky 04-18-2013 11:46 PM

no pre orders yet... you better keep your eye on it im sure it will sell out very quick.. good luck:thumbsup:

Dealer accepted my order 4/11, confirmed 4/12 for estimated June delivery. I'm #1 in their order bank. They think it'll be one per dealer for the year, maybe two for the mega dealers in CA and FL.

No pricing or VIN yet. Once VIN is issued, arrival is usually 3-4 weeks out from Portland and pricing will be released.

If all Series 10's are JDM built, your car will take another 3-4 weeks to arrive on a ship that must first transit the Panama Canal possibly after stops in Nanaimo, B.C., Portland, Benecia and Long Beach, then Houston, Jacksonville, Baltimore, Newark and eventually Boston.

My order confirmation that was entered just in time for the May build cutoff 4/15:

Damnit those headlights and the new head unit have me tempted...any word on price?

torqdork 04-19-2013 12:14 AM

No pricing or even options available yet. I'll post up as soon as I know...hope it isn't sticker shock.

Please let us know! The dealers I reached out to in my area don't have much information - some are actually relying on the forums for their information!

This is from the other series 10 thread.

Ordered earlier this month with an August delivery date.
No pricing but I'm expecting some sort of premium
~2K. Love my firestorm but the paint and
upgrades (I'll have to see the glowing badges in person)
are pretty sick.

torqdork 04-19-2013 12:40 PM

Rough estimating the cost of add-ons plus paint, I came up with ~$2,500 premium. I like UNICRN's info better.

Ishii Motors 04-19-2013 02:32 PM

I placed a deposit on one on the release date 3/28
I'm expecting it delivered early June as was told to me by a scion rep. not the dealer.

If I may ask, why the late-ish delivery date? Are you one of the first to receive the Series 10 from your dealership? Just asking as all the press releases say June, though my area dealers (DC area) claim to not have any arrival information for the car.

Probably one of the first to get a confirmation. As far as timing, since these things are built in Ota, Gunma, they won't have 2500 ready to cross the Pacific for the US market. More time also since I'm around MD/PA. My current FR-S (ask anyone except the "first 86") was even more of a hassle to get.

IloveBaldEagles 04-19-2013 06:06 PM

2500 divided by scion dealers in USA+Canada should give an estimate of how many cars each dealer might get.

BRZPDX 04-19-2013 06:10 PM

you guys all trading in your current brz/fr-s? Or you buying another one for your own collection? I wonder how much you lose out if you trade in the current fr-s/brz for one of these series 10 models..

tomkozski 04-19-2013 10:13 PM

So I bit the bullet, and pre-ordered a Series 10 today, being the first one to pre-order at this dealership. Expected arrival date sometime July/August, though they did admit that was just a guesstimate.

Kevinah 04-19-2013 10:19 PM

Pre-ordered mine, dealer said the order will go in in May and car should arrive by late June for Canadians.

OICU812 04-20-2013 01:07 AM

I will just buy the unique add ons from the 10 series for my one now, no biggie those will be the only real differences all else is same. My only hope is that this fall or next spring at latest we will see a public selling Toyota supercharger that is somewhat decent price that is my #1 want is a supercharger or turbo that is 100% on warranty. I will add to cart in a millisecond, literally. :D

NyC Zn6 04-21-2013 02:57 PM

I placed my order on 4/16 and was told by my rep that my series 10 would be in within 1.5 to 2 months

torqdork 04-21-2013 09:52 PM

Who's getting the OEM spoiler? I'm not a fan, but am on the fence. Aftermarket won't have any painted to this unique code, OEM is the only one with beefier struts to handle the weight and port installations are always top notch quality and of course warrantied. Hmm...

n2oinferno 04-21-2013 11:19 PM

I'm considering it... We'll see, doubt it'll happen in the end though.

l0aded 04-22-2013 07:58 PM

I'm suprised people are trading their current frs for a release series. Won't one be shelling out ~3-5k to cover loss + the additional price difference for the 10 series?

The new features are nice but not THAT nice.

I feel that depends on the expected loss of value of the vehicle.

I have driven mine sufficiently enough that if sold now I will have the least amount of loss on value of my car as it is still a current year vehicle.
I will be getting a 2014 model in June and will hold a current year model for another 18 months.

Sure it costs more and I loose on the other car, but I'm getting a brand new car. But it all depends if I am really going to sell the current car.

Are we sure the Series 10 will be a 2014 model? In the other thread on the Series 10, and the one about 2014 production models, I think there was a post that said it'll be sold as a 2013 model...

I'll double check, but when I talked to the Scion Rep I remember it being said as a 2014 model. When I say Rep, I mean someone whose paycheck comes from Toyota. Not a Dealer guy.

Mine is a 2013MY according to the order confirmation.

ChristosG 04-22-2013 09:50 PM

Those of you guys thinking of getting rid of existing FR-S for this Series 10, how much are you planning on getting for your current ride? I bought mine for $31000 in Canada after taxes and freight and all that crap. If I were to sell mine, even if I sold for MSRP (which you can't do for an almost 1 year old car with 20k kilometers), I'd be out $4500 plus the extra 2-3K the series 10 is selling for. And realistically my current car can't be sold for more than 22K being used, so all in all it would cost me almost 10k. Not worth it no matter how you look at it.

torqdork 04-22-2013 10:18 PM

Dealer and owner asking prices for used FR-S are nearly MSRP here:

I just can't imagine anyone buying mine for more than 22K especially since dealerships are starting to have at least 2-3 sitting on the lot (the turn over is quick I know but they're definitely available here).

torqdork 04-22-2013 11:30 PM

Geography, climate, local demand and availability must play a part. Around here, there may be one on the dealer's lot and almost certainly it's a 6A/T like the demo I first drove that must not be as in demand as a 6M/T.

Also, Craigslist has a rep for sellers asking over market, but since it's free, why not?

Actually, I always start at invoice less holdback, finance reserve and advertising and work up from there.

I agree. The only way it would be "worth it" to me is if they came out with a factory turbo/supercharged model.
