How about current FJ owners, soon to be FRS owners?

Still a current FJ owner! It's the perfect pair of vehicles. Both extremely impractical and fun!

My ex-gf has an FJ and I fucking love that thing. These cars really do compliment each other nicely. One with lots of room and offroad/4WD capability. The other a sports car with good gas mileage and a blast to drive.

yeah i was really trying to keep both.. kind of regret trading mine in!! 2 vehicles for two purposes that are polar opposites

Kaster 04-17-2013 01:48 AM

Agreed guys! These two vehicles go great together, I just can't get rid of my rig.

dflood75 04-17-2013 01:58 AM

Yeah me neither! Way too much money in this thing. I'm sure the FR will have the same fate as the FJ. Gunna be tough deciding on who gets what mods next.. Ha!

My two + FRS
I like Black, they go faster.

boead 04-17-2013 11:15 AM

I was just saying to my GF that I want an FJ !!

dflood75 04-17-2013 12:01 PM

I gotta say driving the FJ after driving the FR for the first month of ownership was a trip. I nearly crashed it! Somehow I had convinced myself it didn't handle all that bad for a truck with mud tires and a 3" lift. I was giving my Icon coilovers waaaaay too much credit!

dflood75 04-17-2013 12:05 PM

I'm a little jealous. I wish I could have gotten my FR in voodoo blue.

I kept envisioning a Mexico Blue Cayman S in my driveway parked next to the FJ. Then I drove the FR-S...

Signing in :) Some days I miss my box truck...

Then I drive around a turn and forget all about that.

Still own my Tacoma and eventually a FR-S owner

My wife is now gravitating to the Jeep Wrangler as her next vehicle, despite my plea that she look at the FJ instead. Either way she will NEVER go off road and it will burn gas.

She changes direction like a fart in the wind...

Does she mind wind noise? because that's a real issue (at least for) on the wrangler.

And blind spots in the FJ.

dflood75 04-17-2013 05:31 PM

And wicked horrible mileage in the FJ. At least with the Wrangler you could "navigate" her towards the 4-banger.

actinium 04-17-2013 05:35 PM

BRZ replaced my totaled taco, I miss it but it was never as much fun to drive as my subie;

What all have you done to yours? I love the Iceberg TT by the way. Wished I had been an early adopter to the FJ as the TT was mucho cooler to begin with!

Thanks! :happy0180: They are the -25 offset Weds Adventure on Cooper STTs.

dflood75 04-17-2013 07:35 PM

Holy shit! I had no clue Weds made truck wheels. I came REALLY close to going with bronze Volk TE37s but I just couldn't justify dropping near 5k on 5 wheels for a truck. How freaking badass would that be though?!?

Icon Stage 6 set-up, TRD Supercharger and CAI, Full Ricochet skids, Expedition 1 front bumper with PIAA 510s and 520s (which I have yet to wire up, fail), Gobi Stealth rack, Boztec Diff skid, Rocktec rear LCA skids, springtail side MPAC mount, BFG KM2s 285s and a few other minor mods (CB wired up, GPS etc) Still want to put more but the 86 has taken mod priority lately haha.

Yeah I was totally going to buy a silver FJ back in 07 but was going to wait until I got home from the Army. As soon as I saw they were going to release the White TT, I decided to wait for it and I picked one up in April 08. I have a bit of a thing for white cars if you haven't noticed lol. My cars before the FJ and 86 were an '03 RSX Type-S, and a '90 Honda Accord(first car), guess what color. lol

bcj 04-18-2013 01:51 AM

Tacos were the majority of vehicles I saw today on northern California 36 and 96.
They're the go-to it looks like. Some of the locals were running with the mudders into the inside drainage on the corners.
They knew the road and I let them past as fast as I could. 8)
