I think you mean "discuss-ting"

The cost of wearing through those tires in 1000 miles must be hard to swallow.

Scalzo 04-14-2013 11:57 PM

Perfect example how to ruin a car :)

Khazzy 04-14-2013 11:59 PM

This is someones car on here.

Kelbyat07 04-15-2013 12:03 AM

Something sticks out about this picture.. and I don't really like it

dori. 04-15-2013 12:07 AM

car is nothing new:

the only thing I want to discuss is how he avoids potholes being that low in manhattan lawl

seems like this guy gains new haters every week

Huehuecoyotl 04-15-2013 12:08 AM

but dont people have a right to express their personalities thru their builds?

xwd 04-15-2013 12:13 AM

Sure, but if you are going to post it in public be ready for some opinions. Not my thing. Wheels look like old 911 wheels and not very good on this car.

Don't worry, someone already likened the wheels to those off a Hyundai.

Wonderbar 04-15-2013 12:22 AM

So long the Hyundai doesn't have stupid fitment, it'll probably look better

NemeGuero 04-15-2013 01:03 AM

Just stick with your plasti-dipped stock wheels and carry on.

coyote 04-15-2013 01:28 AM

h8rz gonna h8!

What I'd like to know is when exactly did the definition of the word "aggressive" get changed to "shit that doesn't fit".

And yeah, nicely tucked.

SubaSteve 04-15-2013 01:33 AM

Like the front just not the rear. I also loved his old wheels the new ones feel less aggressive.

Did I say tucked?

Damn keyboard. T and F are so close together.

In the early 2000s, my friends in NorCal were doing hellaflush where it originated. I watched as it gained momentum with shows popping up nationwide and thought it was cool my friends pioneered a cult movement. At first I thought it only wears your tires a little faster/unevenly and if you can afford to replace, more power to you. Til this happened to my friend an hour away from his home.

https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...70105412_n.jpg

Or my other friend who had polished deep dishes with dope tire stretch. Emphasis: "had."

https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...91723627_n.jpg

I could feel their frustration. It's not that I hate on the owners (my friends) that do it. More like I hate what it does to to the owner. So please don't be offended/confuse this as hate. Just taking their experience and putting visceral knowledge to work. You pour time/money/love into it and this is how it repays you. Hellaflush is like unprotected sex; might be fun f*cking around like you don't give a f*ck what the haters say til you catch that bad break and your shit gets torn up. Or like dudes who hang weights on their wang to increase its size. Yeah looks swoll bro but now you can't fully function (get fully erect) cuz nerves got destroyed in the process. No biggie. :iono:

So it's not a question of Form > Function. More like Function > Destruction.

BRZ license revoked.

m.box.design 04-15-2013 02:19 AM

i keep seeing/hearing hellaflush is a lifestyle. does anyone know what this lifestyle entails?

WillBRZ 04-15-2013 02:20 AM

Props to him for making them fit. I honestly appreciate the time and effort to make them flush & not rip up his fenders & not look mexiflush. Fitment is on point and very aggressive.

Personally every time I see those pics I think the car looks broken, but to each their own I guess!

A LOT of trips to a proctologist.

It looks to me like someone takes a lot of pride in his ride. While it's certainly not for me, I admire the work put into it.

Turbowned 04-15-2013 09:05 AM

Nothing good can come of this thread...

But just to add fuel to the fire, I'll post this again:

http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...hellaflush.jpg

I'm all for lowered cars, but there gets to be a point of excess where it stops being cool, and this is a perfect example.

Rayme 04-15-2013 09:09 AM

No hate guys!

I personally loves seeing those lowered as f*ck cars.

Just as long as it's not MY car.

EDIT: Just so you guys know, this forum is tuning into a bashing ground. There's tons of thread with nothing else than people trashing cars / owners...f'n grow up!

What do you mean grow up? If anything saying how I actually feel about the car is grown up, and be grown up about it and learn how to take criticism otherwise don't post it online. I personally don't like it, I think it's stupid to ruin the car's balance and put yourself in danger for a look.

n2oinferno 04-15-2013 09:20 AM

It's too extreme for my taste but the turbo twist (reps, real?) wheels are interesting. Had to check the other thread to see them better. I hate to say it, but the first thing this reminded me of was one of my kid's Hot Wheels cars where he's bent the rear axle, and the wheels look like they've been set to have ridiculous negative camber. Haha, two years old and already reppin the hellaflush.

ATL BRZ 04-15-2013 09:24 AM

There are more than a few owners here on this forum with cars just like that. They spend their first wad of cash on shitty coilovers or airbags and slam the car before doing anything else, don't bother correcting the resulting insane camber, and think it looks cool in photoshoots and while drifting. It's hilarious that many of them claim to not be hellaflush fanboys when running stretched 225's on 9.5" wheels...

I think they all look broken. Hate the look of the "stance" or hellafail scene myself, but I'm not hating on owners doing what they want to their cars. I just hope they all realize they are ruining any and all chances of their cars being remotely fast around a turn, which is what I thought the point of the car was to begin with. @Moto-P said it a long time ago, the suspension in these cars likes to MOVE.

I hope its not rude for me to say this is a thread highlighting whole disregard and CLEARLY no engineering background and mostly lacking in common sense=I elect to build with mad camber and call it hate when folks tell me thats pretty far from manufacturer specs, but here its 'Merica so it must be 'cool' if others say so, why cant I be 'me' BS...

aint got nothing against doing that to a machine, I mean you can paint it pink and put 42" tires on a sports car if thats your build style

dont make it right, and wont ever earn my 'respect':bellyroll:

I fail to see how and ill fitted tire and rim combo is cool, safe, or OK on public roads, I also fail to see how using 1/5 of your tires contact patch makes sense

in the 80's you could dye your hair blue, that was personal expression. Butchering a car with bad engineering has nothing to do with taste
its a lack there of

Pride? admire? nah...

HunterGreene 04-15-2013 09:43 AM

What does this lifestyle entail? Buying new tires every 6 months, for one.

Hellaflush/over-negative camber is not my thing. But thank you for doing your part to keep the economy going.

Jinzen 04-15-2013 09:54 AM

He thinks it looks sooo cool. That's the lifestyle. Except most people think it looks mega lame.

Jayde 04-15-2013 09:59 AM

Ehh....

Never was really into this stance thing.

norsamerican 04-15-2013 10:15 AM

Im beginning to wonder of the true orgins of thes "hellaflush" style was generated from the latino low riders transitioning over to the import scene.

HunterGreene 04-15-2013 10:48 AM

I've come to a new conclusion--Hellaflushers are the Hipsters of the Automotive world. Except Hellaflushers have more money :D

campy 04-15-2013 11:29 AM

Yeah! How dare they spend their own money to modify their cars in a way I personally don't like! These idiots don't know that all mods MUST be done to shave tenths of seconds off their track times, not for style or their own enjoyment!

I know we all like circlejerking over the "function > form" mantra here, but really, get over it. Let other people enjoy their cars instead of making fun of them on the internet.

Ingen 04-15-2013 11:36 AM

Women wear high heels b/c they like how they look even though it ruins the biomechanical assembly of the ankle / foot.

This isn't that much different, except the car doesn't have an ass to accentuate. It's not a very smart trend, and it really does NOTHING for the system other than appearance, and it's expensive... But who cares?

The car is an object. Would you get mad if someone who had the same dishwasher as you did something stupid with it?
