Firestorm or Ultramarine?
2 Attachment(s)
I know these two usually don't end up being people's top two choices, but that's what happened in my case.
Being colourblind, and only being able to see primary colours, it's come down to either Firestorm or Ultramarine for me. The other colours are too dull for me (not saying they are bad colours), and Hot Lava definitely stands out, but to my colourblind eyes, it's a really ugly colour. Looks like poop. :( So it comes down to these two colours. Both look amazing in person, and I just can't decide. So which one would you pick? Firestorm or Ultramarine? Why are you asking us? It will be your car. You have to pick.
|
Im sorry to hear about that. Firestorm is a really nice color IMO.
|
I'd say go for firestorm, it has more of the sporty look to it imo. The ultramarine is nice but I don't think it gives that same look or aggressiveness that the car should give.
|
Those were my two choices too. I took whatever was available at the time, which was Ultramarine. No regrets at all, and I'd have had no regrets if Firestorm was what I ended up with either. They're both great colors.
|
I love my ultramarine so much <3
I might even wash it. First time since December woo! lol. We used cinders in WV for the road and I didn't wanna risk scratching it. |
I rolled with Firestorm, and I usually hate red cars. It just pops on this one. Same as the AP2 s2000's
|
That ultramarine is amazing. If I could do it again, I would have gotten the blue. The only reason I didn't the first time was because my last car was blue and I just wanted something different.
I wish they released the WRB for scion though. |
A red car diminishes the effect of the accents like the red taillights, red reverse marker, orange side markers, and makes the black plastic trim really stand out. Basically it just looks red with black, and silver wheels. The blue is very nicely complemented by the aforementioned accent elements, and the black trim is blended better with the main body's color.

Personally Ultramarine.
However since you're on the fence between the two just take the one that comes in first, you won't regret it. Or the one with fewer miles on the clock. |
Firestorm if you don't speed, ultramarine if you have the bad habit of doing that (occasionally of course :P).
Can't go wrong with any single color on the fr-s, though. I mostly did a "walk in and pick what's available" - all the colors look great in my eyes! |

Decisions, decisions...:mad0259: |
You a blood or crips? J/k I wanted a firestorm at first. But Ultramarine has grown on me.
|
I picked Ultramarine. Ken Gushi drives a Firestorm if that helps you lol.
|
Blue is for Buicks and red is for sports cars. Guess which one I drive.
:burnrubber: |
I would pick Firestorm out of those two colors.
|
you go with Firestorm, it is very nice. I have ultramarine.
|
I've loved red cars since forever, to me there was no other choice but Firestorm. If I did want to get blue though, I think the BRZ Blue Pearl looks amazing.
|
You're colorblind. Raven is the obvious choice!
|
Firestorm attracts more attention. Ultramarine blends in somewhat until you get a sunny day and then it absolutely pops. It depends on what you are going for. For me, as soon as I drove the car, I couldn't wait to just get it. I had thought that I would try to find an Asphalt, Ultramarine, or Hot Lava, but, I said to myself Firestorm looks better in person than in most pictures. So when I got mine, it was a decision to wait months or have what I wanted now. I chose the latter. It is hard not to fall in love with this car regardless of colour.
|
Ultramarine. I wasn't too fond of the firestorm when I saw it and the ultramarine is just awesome in the sun.
|
I LOVE my ultramarine, gets lots of complements and in my opinon makes this car a little "classier"...and the biggest thing is it reminds me of the interlagos color available on bmw m3s.
and for how good it looks on nice days it looks even better when its overcast! |

Who told you that mess? Almost every modern buick I've seen has been some shade of silver. Here is a classic blue buick. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...V-08-BC_01.jpg |
Ultramarine.
|
The red is nice since it "matches" everything. Your car will basically be red and black which is pretty sweet.
But I do have to say I have a love/hate relationship with the style of paint they use for the red. I really like the "shine" of the other colors. Isn't the red like non-metalic? Red is also a cop magnet.. there have been a couple times where I was glad I was 1 of 10 silver cars going just a few miles over the speed limit :) |

Ultramarine looks amazing when clean, pretty dull when dirty. I personally like Ultramarine most
|
Since you're on the fence, I'd go with whichever pops up first.
Here in my neck of the woods, the firestorm ones are a dime a dozen here, and when I finally decided on ultramarine, I ended up driving 6 hours to buy it, since none were shipped in the 2 months I waited for one to come to my area. TLDR? This: If you're a superhero, get the red. If you're a shadowy ninja, go blue. |

to answer op's q though- I like firestorm. Hides the safety feature side blinkees and such and well.... god it looks so sweet. Though I believe that ultramarine will definitely age better because of the metallics Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk 2 |
I voted ultramarine, due to there are so much firestorms already + I want to get a firestorm as well, unless they release a yellow one!!!

If you plan to mod, you might want to consider what color scheme of wheels and lip kit you'd go with before you pull the trigger on a car color. This particular dark blue JDM BRZ was my inspiration before I started modding mine (though mine is WRB):
http://cdn.mkimg.carview.co.jp/minka...t=3fdcef824ff6 Besides that, this is essentially a question of personal preference. Vanilla v. chocolate. Blondes v. brunettes. I'd usually only consider red if it were on a Ferrari. If any other brand car is red I see it as trying too hard to be what Ferrari is in essence (red). Red = Ferrari. It's synonymous. Any other car that's red does not equate... I can't get that stigma out of my head. :bonk: |
Ultramarine is my least favorite color (horrible contrast with black). Firestorm is my favorite color.
Voting for firestorm all the way |
red is magical when it comes to taking pictures and editing..you can really make it pop! but in person the red one is meh. go blue.
|
I don't see much Ultramarine on the road. Both are very nice colors, but blue pops out better.
|
I like ultramarine, but my girlfriend has an 08 TC with the same color and I didn't want to be twinkies.
|
My top 3 color choices were Asphalt, Ultramarine and Firestorm. They didn't have the first two which made it an easy choice for red.
