i'm starting to drive myself crazy over this car. actually i've been @ it for a few months now. went to the premiere back in Nov and it seems like TMS is drawing this out for as long as possible. hell, the folks attending NAIAS aren't even allowed to sit in a car that's already debuted publicly, TWICE. what the heck!?!?! this is making me mad or i'm making myself mad? probably both; give us the flipping car already!! even after "the first 86" they still won't give even committed buyers a price!! and it's all the same for the BRZ. and this isn't even a crazy supercar going for bukoo $$$!!! watch: when the FR-S & BRZ finally making it to dealer lots i'll sit in it just to find i'm a size too tall :bonk:*end rant*

Aye, they'll announce when it's announced. I'm aiming for 2013. So i'm in nooooooooooooo rush.

When they debuted it in tokoyo a few months ago, they let common people drive. You just missed out. Not sure why they are not letting people sit in cars. Probably because what you see now in the interiors is not final spec...

It's honestly impossible to wait until May-July unless you have something else to numb your lust for the Fr-s/BRZ.

If you keep it out of your mind, time goes by way faster than when you think about it.

Play some forza or something, get ur mind off of it haha.

The Frs at the detroit auto show was suppose to be the only frs in the usa, so the scion rep told me over at the Silicon Valley auto show last weekend. So i dont blame them for not letting anyone sit inside it at the moment. Play some Gran Turismo 5 in the mean time and enjoy a virtual 86. And its not in its final spec. there are still some changes that can take place.

Uhh no.. Their was the Greddy one, the Red one which debuted in LA, and the Silver one, and the Formula D, plus the others in aftermarket tuner labs for testing. Please - what a bunch of bologna saying it was the only one lol.

Agreed! Its perfect for me, cuz I'll definitely be back from deployment by that time and I will be able to put about 50%-60% down payment on the vehicle :) of course all depending on what they price it at.

Me too, I also love cars and im also tall, so in also worried about fitting (deffinately out of the 95th percentile) but man, at the end of the day it's only metal, plastic, rubber and silica, or a combination there off. It will come when it comes, and if I don't fit, well too bad haha. At least you guys are looking at a more affordable price. I am fortunate that this forum is based in the states, since full time work I can't keep up with it any more lol so I'm cooling off and not as obsessed as I was
Relax, this is a very beautiful car, but untill you sit in it and drive it, no need to overthink and obsess. Mayb you find that you don't like the way it feels ;)
But I have a rx8, so it's not like i have nothing to drive hard and fast everyday :)

I used to own an Rx-8 but sold it right before I deployed.. My dream is that this car will handle at least just as good as my rx-8 did! I loved driving that thing!

now while i am for sure a die hard car guy you don't need to take my every word literally. i'm not going to go into a depression or shed tears if things don't work out between my build and that of the interior of the AS1. truth is there's a new WRX/STI coming within the next year and I know for sure based off of the current car I'll definitely fit in that. though i'd much rather have the FR-S/BRZ because I believe it will ultimately be the better handling car, and not to mention much better looking especially when hooked up with a lowered suspension and decent sized wheels. :thumbsup:

I notice how much other people here love putting someone else down when they show any type of emotion in these forums, especially as of late. I think that has to do with all the official info we all have been waiting for and now have. Especially, since you've been a member here since '09, I know how you're feeling. I've been anxious to see it in person and from hearing that you went to the scion premier would see that you're more anxious than I am. lol There's nothing wrong with the amount of anxiety you have, but in the mean time if I were you I'd suggest keeping yourself busy with something else.

But I enjoy your enthusiasm. Hopefully you fit and take care of your FRS/BRZ. :thumbsup:

i've been reading car blogs on practically a daily basis since they came into existence some years ago. back in 04'-'05 i'd be over @ 7TUNE reading endless speculation on what this car would be and all anyone knew at the time was that it would be affordable and rear-drive, engineered by Subaru and funded by Toyota. from jump, of course, i was afraid of the interior packaging since JDM cars are notoriously cramped on the inside for us jolly green giants. once i fully understood the weight of Subaru's involvement in the project a lot of my fears were alleviated as Subies are fairly roomy and i fit in every last one rather comfortably. of course with the objectives for this particular car interior room was going to be one of the first things to be compromised on. however it looks like they've done a remarkably better job than any other JDM car company has with a compact sports car.

at the release i was really hoping to sit in the car but that didn't work out as i'd hoped. the moment that does happen, rest assured the pic will be going up on here and perhaps a video as a point of reference for any other tall guys thinking about this car.

Dang bro, You've been following this piece for a very very long time now haha. I really hope everything works out for you. Im not sure how tall you are but I hope u fit well! Im just an average 5-10 person, I guess im lucky that doesn't really have to be one of my worries.

As to aftermarket solutions, I prefer chronic.

Well, I am currently deployed to afghanistan. I've been here since last june. I won't be leaving this place till probably late may/early june. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to afford it. My best advice is to save whatever you can during basic and tech school, then use that as a down-payment.

Good luck man my brother was down there. After basic and tech I should have around 10gs for the down payment . . . doesn't sound TOO bad.

Ok wow if you don't fit, Toyota should make a special edition for you with a slightly modified seating position, because if you have been following it THAT long, I don't thin that there is a more deserving person for this car out there.

yeah man, it doesnt sound bad at all.. And after u get out, u can just find urself a used FR-S with low miles for cheap. Probably would be the best way to go for ya.

Till I know my 6'7ness can fit. I won't over excite myself. Although one of the Jalponik fellas whom is 6'3, seemed to report a comfortable fit into a BRZ.

you've got a point. but @ 6'5" i SHOULD be able to fit in this car, especially if someone who is 6'3" can do it, and @ that probably 6'3" w/ his shoes off.

I refuse to give in just yet even though I've been waiting for this car for a long time too. I hear ya poorman but stuff like this is what the marketing team wants us all to feel, that "I must go out and have it right now!". Don't give in, don't give in! ;)

Because I've owned a fair share of cars and motorcycles I've learned to tune that out and be patient.

I still don't know why they haven't announced the price yet too! That's such :bs:.

Is it me or is news for the FRS, BRZ, FT86... recently dead in the water. There hasn't been too much news regarding the car ever since the past Tokyo and Detroit shows. Or maybe I should stop checking the forum for news every hour..:bonk:

Besides the price, everything has already been thrown out there. What the marketing team @ Scion is now doing is waiting for the right time to throw out the price; just like a fisherman throwing out chum before casting their line trying to get those first 86 buyers! :thumbdown:
