And how do you make your acrylic? Is it stamped or do you use a laser?

sieglapj 04-08-2013 07:26 AM

Guys, I have to ask. Where do u keep your spare change now? U know, your coins?

Ryan86 04-08-2013 01:27 PM

Hi fellow South African 86ers.

I have been requested by the supplier of the plaque, to kindly remove this thread and not try create a opportunity for us to bring in as a group to save costs on shipping.

I find it pathetic and will NOT purchase anything from them again.

Zeta Products and ZN86 have used my installations to post pictures on there web sites and ebay, but we can post there items on our group to purchase.

Stupid Politics.

Delete this thread.

That is pathetic!!!!!!!!

Lets find a local supplier and screw those a-holes.

zetaproducts.net 04-08-2013 01:38 PM

Sorry for the MISCOMMUNICATION but Ryan did not let us know that he was posting a group buy.

What is the problem? We are a bunch of guys ordering together to save on shipping. We are not buying from Ryan.

Is there a problem or not? If there is, please let us know because you're about to lose 20 orders.

Mike Hoxbig 04-08-2013 01:42 PM

What difference does it make? The threads that are created specifically mention that these are group buys. He is not profiting in any way, we're just trying to save shipping costs since we have the good fortune of being located to the far south of Africa.

Seriously pathetic, guess we need to find a new supplier.

Ryan86 04-08-2013 01:43 PM

This was not a group buy, but a chance for you to get a large order into South Africa and for us to save on shipping costs.

But never mind we will go elsewhere.

sav 04-08-2013 01:46 PM

I still don't get why it's a problem in the first place. If you had bought 20 and resold them in SA at a profit they would never have known(or cared) but it's all been above board.

zetaproducts.net 04-08-2013 01:54 PM

The problem is that the aluminum plaques are exclusive to 86_ZN6

Fish Eagle 04-08-2013 01:58 PM

I don't understand why there's any problem either, but the end result is quite clear - they're not likely to sell anything into SA now... Bad move.

sav 04-08-2013 01:59 PM

Fair enough, so we put our money together, order 20 of them from 86_ZN6 which gets shipped to Ryan and Ryan sends them to us. I still don't see a problem.

WATIKA 04-08-2013 02:04 PM

i did a costing on these.
Material - Allum 6062 - R 13.89
Water or jet cutting into shape-R15,00
Milling of 86 emblem on a Hurco VM10 -R 25,00
Adding red or black annodising -R6,00
COST = R59,89

We can have these locally made for a lot cheaper.

I'll make my own,thank you.

Brilliant.

That's less than $7! :respekt:

Mike Hoxbig 04-08-2013 02:07 PM

Great stuff Watika. Much better than the ~R250 that I was actually prepared to pay to ship from the USA.

If there's still a problem after that then I see no logic in even dealing with that supplier at all. :bs:

Ryan is not a dealer - he's an honest guy that devotes a sizeable amount of his time singling out the best accessories available that he knows we will like and allowing a small discerning bunch of enthusiasts an opportunity to get at a realistic price.

86 ZN6 knew exactly what I was doing and this was not a group buy before posting. JR even mailed these pictures to me.

This is what I get for advertising your products to get you in SA and in the spirit of helping my fellow members, as I have happened to buy almost all your products and recommended both Zeta Products and 86 ZN6, but that's done, we don't treat our customers in this manner in Africa.

Goodbye.

KapteinBos 04-08-2013 02:38 PM

WATIKA. Ur going to have to delete that thread or edit it with your markup included bud... Coz I see orders coming your way...

yes we had an arrangement that i will post the group buy for you in SA forums.

i even warned you that posting such groupbuy without sponsorship will get you in trouble here

Alang 04-08-2013 03:01 PM

WOW! We are so naughty!!!
Actually buying something together, I need to be spanked!
All this tells me is that the suppliers are putting a mark-up on shipping. That's the only way they could possibly lose any money out of such an arrangement.
If we buy individually then they can add a little on top for the shipping.Hmmmm, unethical? methinks.

Well, you've just lost SA's business. This is a case of cutting your nose to spite your face.

Plastic orders would have come via Zeta and aluminum via you.

Alang 04-08-2013 03:33 PM

Ok so I went to look and couldn't find it? How exactly do you rate a supplier / give feedback on the forum? I looked under the profiles but couldn't spot it.

86_ZN6 04-08-2013 03:38 PM

the main problem issue here is miscommunication.

if ryan made proper arrangements with us then there will not be an issue.

the plaques are NOT to be advertised by anyone else in the forums except for zetaproducts and 86_ZN6 (me)

we are not aware that he was already advertising this on the forums.

i told ryan that i will posting for him but he did not respond and the next day we see this new posting of him which created the issue.

this issue is small and can still be corrected. If ryan still agrees and accepts the terms and conditions then we can still proceed with this group buy.

we are here to correct the issue and not create more problems

sav 04-08-2013 03:54 PM

Oh okay, so somebody else helping you sell your products is a big no no. I get it.

Too late now, I doubt anybody from SA would want to buy from you again. You're not the only supplier.

companies/suppliers has their own policies.

the forums even has it's own regarding advertising and selling

we must respect them.

Um, I know it's hard to understand, but you're kind of missing the point.
Ryan is not advertising the items for himself, he put the thread up to ask if anyone would like to club together and buy.
At no point has even insinuated in any way that he is a dealer.
Either way, basically what you are saying is that only you can put pictures up of your products on a forum, thought you'd maybe appreciate the exposure?

...and silence. Funny how they're so quiet now.

Fish Eagle 04-10-2013 05:02 AM

My son-in-law is a graphic artist and is involved with signage and making such things.

He took some measurements from my 86 last night - let's see what he can come up with...

Ryan had given us permission to use the image. We have since removed the image from our web site.
