Waiting on my FR-S... delays at the NJ port

If anyone is waiting on a FR-S on the east coast, you may be waiting longer. I learned the port in New Jersey has delays on processing incoming vehicles. My FR-S has been at the port going on two weeks now.

I hope this doesn't last long... my BRZ is due into port on the 15th or the 18th. I was hoping for month-end delivery.

Should go over to the port and start beating up people for some answers.

I believe Toyota delivers cars to ports in California, Florida and New Jersey. Your car could be coming from Jacksonville, Florida.

There's plenty of FR-S's available around here. My local dealer has 5 sitting on the lot for MSRP.

I have to wait. I'm ordering under Toyota's employee program.

I am beginning to think my car is coming through NJ as well... that or there are delays at the other ports as well. My car was suppose to be here 4/3, its now 4/10 and the dealer just told me he is trying to get his manager to call the port because the date in their system just keeps slipping :iono:

Did you ever get your car or are you still waiting bdub85?

They are having delays on all Scions for some reason. I never got an exact answer on why. My car was at the port for 2 weeks before they started processing it.

My car finally started processing Monday. I should have it early next week.

My car is en route to the dealer now. :burnrubber:

So what's the benefit if you order it as an employee? 30% discount?

Mine was unloaded at the port facility in San Francisco CA and then was shipped by rail to Gulf States distributorship in Houston.

Stuck at port

My series 10 FRS has been stuck at the NJ port since yesterday and nobody has any idea on how long it'll say there before heading to the dealership. It's so worrisome for our salesman he's trying to get another FRS-10 swapped at a sister dealership with mine (and that's one's been stuck in port for more than a week). I spoke to another dealership and he said receiving cars from the NJ port is very random -he could have several cars delivered within five days or five weeks of arrival at the port. He thinks it has something to do with the teamsters (?).

I'm used to these waits... took four months to get my 8th gen Civic Si with navi (when they first came out) and almost three months for a blue ribbon metallic tC with navi too (first time the color and navi were offered).

I hope the car being in port translates to light at the end of the tunnel -it'd be nice to have it before the summer's gone as I see it under a car cover all winter long.
