Who signed up for First 86?

I did, but that's only because I really want a FR-S/BRZ as my next automobile, and I'm ready to buy.

Who else signed up?

MotoChris98 01-12-2012 01:12 PM

same here

ubersoph 01-12-2012 01:17 PM

Did so, even though I prefer the BRZ slightly.

mines13 01-12-2012 01:26 PM

I'm in.

xrs 01-12-2012 01:45 PM

I did. Be sure to reply back if any of ya are picked. Be interesting to see if anyone on here is selected.

zoomzoomers 01-12-2012 01:48 PM

Its all a clever ploy to increase our chances of being selected ;)

Zaku 01-12-2012 01:52 PM

Lol I don't think it matters, People can decide on their own. I didn't sign up but I wish the people who did good luck and show us your cars when you get them.

A Gomez 01-12-2012 01:57 PM

I think I did.. The reasn why I am saying "I think" is that the website is absolutely hideous and was not working, so I had to do it from my smartphone (yeah, Scion, hire better web developers). When I finally finished, I didn't even get an confirmation to my email. I did this only in hope of getting to know the price.

Dave-ROR 01-12-2012 02:01 PM

I did.

slizoth 01-12-2012 02:01 PM

If you actually read through the FAQ and Terms it states several times you can cancel at any time and you will get to test drive the vehicle before making your purchase. The $500 deposit is also fully refundable, so, yes it is just a way to see how much they can charge but it's also a way for you to get an early test drive.

GT-86 01-12-2012 02:02 PM

Tried but wouldn't accept my postcode.

Praetendere 01-12-2012 02:03 PM

I did.

They have no intention of sending the price in an email to you. If you get selected you have three days to goto the dealer and sign a deposit agreement at which time you still won't know the cost.

mines13 01-12-2012 02:04 PM

Its a North America only contest through Scion.

You aren't in the US are you? It's a US Scion promotion/gimmick...

zoomzoomers 01-12-2012 02:05 PM

Hey no hate here. I just thought most people had come to a consensus. Doesn't really matter to me since I'll be buying a BRZ when it comes out. :party0030:

Grimlock 01-12-2012 02:10 PM

It might also be fun to see what color/ transmission you've selected.

I went with a manual and Firestorm Red. How about you?

Personally though, I'm still waffling between the FR-S and the BRZ, but if I get picked for this, then the FR-S it will be!

Dave-ROR 01-12-2012 02:13 PM

White/Manual. I was torn between that and asphalt.

bambbrose 01-12-2012 02:14 PM

Hot Lava/Manual for me.

I wonder if, more than just determining the sales price information and demand, the main reason for doing this is to get some manual to automatic ratios?

They will probably be skewed manual with this data, but they would take that into account.

buzznasa 01-12-2012 02:17 PM

I signed up as well and chose White/Manual.

If you read all of the fine print you will have noticed a part where they discussed that the drawings will not be from a giant pool of entrants from across the US but instead from smaller pools based upon region. My guess is to ensure that they get spread as evenly as possible.

Rabble 01-12-2012 02:22 PM

I signed up for an ultramarine/manual.

I was already going to put $500 down on the car so whatever. If it costs too much I'll just walk away like I was planning on in the first place.

Argent6978 01-12-2012 02:25 PM

Ultramarine and manual for me. Finally got all signed up, was trying to do it from work and the page wasn't updating, finally refreshed it on the right page and got to it. :P I'm hopeful!

viper_driver 01-12-2012 02:39 PM

I signed up but know I won't get picked because I already put in a deposit. I'm skeptical enough to think that matters. No way they're going to give me one when they could get money from someone else.

+1 on the page being terrible, took lots of tries in order to make it work.

carbonBLUE 01-12-2012 02:40 PM

i tried signing up but i get that loading ring.... keeps spinning...

Syldrin 01-12-2012 02:41 PM

i just hope we get leaked the price.

White manual, man. We think alike on every thread, have the same taste in cars, and pretty much always agree... Are we related?

MRZ415 01-12-2012 02:50 PM

NOT me... reason being they did not state what free goodies you'll get
if the first 86 gets a full TRD body kit then YES I am in ... but it did not state
that anywhere ...

Alot of people signing up will inform Scion that alot of people want this car..
They will be able to price the car at a higher selling point if alot of people sign up
and drive up interest on the vehicle.

Jehuty77 01-12-2012 02:51 PM

I wanna signup but i guess its a no go for canadians

Spaceywilly 01-12-2012 02:51 PM

white/manual. Not sure if I'll buy it if I win but seems worth a shot. I wonder when the neverending sales calls begin.

Pekingduck 01-12-2012 02:51 PM

I sign up I kind of hope I get it and I don't
