Cant wait for these to become available!

Silverdub 03-30-2013 09:51 AM

Nice find!

VENOM~ 03-30-2013 11:58 AM

someone needs to contact hardrace and get us info. Price, and do these just bolt in and you re drill your existing rotors? I'd be interested in a front pair since you can use 08+ sti rear hubs.

JP 03-31-2013 04:59 AM

I've asked the Australian distributor for a price. Hardrace is based out of Taiwan, a mate of mine is heading over there in May so if they're significantly cheaper buying locally in TW then I'll get him to bring me a set back

OmarGC 03-31-2013 06:32 AM

Fuck fuck fuck fuccccckkkk... I foresee this in my future as a wheel whore

eckoflyte 03-31-2013 08:43 AM

What are peoples opinions on using an aftermarket part for such a reliability critical component? I would think that the OEM part would be more reliable over the long run.

philstar 03-31-2013 11:05 AM

what! need more info asap!

I've got absolutely no concerns.

I use aftermarket bearings on my Subaru's when the factory 5x100 bearings flog out early.

wholeeoh 03-31-2013 09:16 PM

i cant find it on their website

Huehuecoyotl 03-31-2013 09:32 PM

will take a set...sure!

Lonewolf 03-31-2013 10:23 PM

When is this available?

JP 04-01-2013 10:14 PM

$1000 AUD inc GST for the set in Australia, pretty cheap compared to new genuine hubs.

JackSmiley 04-02-2013 07:44 AM

^ i'll take a set!:D

We've been in touch with them on this. :)

Beyer Subaru 04-02-2013 09:35 AM

Yep. I couldn't find anything on their website. I found this on jdmyards facespace page - http://www.facebook.com/JDMYard/timeline

I wonder if you will be able to use 05+ STi or Tribeca 5x114 bearings as replacements?

negative. I looked into this. the sti and tribeca front bearings will not fit into the frs hub. The frs hub bearing diameter is 76mm while the sti/tribeca are 86mm.

the sti rear bearing however is an exact match for the frs and will bolt in.
rotor needs drill to 5x114 tho

You've misunderstood me.

I'm asking - What happens when the bearings go out on this 5x114 hub conversion? I was under the impression that 5x114 hubs have larger bearings than 5x100.

So is this aftermarket piece machined to accept our OEM 5x100 bearing, a 5x114 bearing or some aftermarket bearing of their choosing?

OmarGC 04-02-2013 10:33 PM

Price is $1050 shipped to America

JackSmiley 04-03-2013 06:31 AM

What site did you get that price qoute?

Syklonious 04-03-2013 10:15 AM

I'd be keen on some rear hubs, do you need to get all 4?

Why would you run 5x100 in the front and 5x114 in the rear??

I emailed them last week and finally got a response. They are $895 shipped in the US from Hardrace, takes 10-14 to get them. You can call them or email buyhardrace@gmail.com Expensive but better imho than messing around with conversion spacers if you really want to use some 5x114.3 wheels.

$224 per hub/bearing assembly is not that bad. I've seen more expensive stock replacements (2008 Mitsu Outlander front hub without a bearing is $260!). I'm glad these are available. If I ever go widebody I'll be able to get some really great wheels to fill out the fenders.

Anyone know if they will sell the fronts only?

My understanding is that you can use STI rear hubs.. which you can buy for as low as $81 each at RockAuto. So if you could get the fronts from Hardrace for like $450 and then a pair of STI rears for under $100 each.. $650 is not bad at all.

SLICVIC 05-08-2013 07:44 PM

literally just dished out a pretty penny for 5x100 wheels a few hours ago. Lol i guess at 895 shipped its not that bad. def a great thing to have available tho. this is huge for our community!

nonicname 05-08-2013 09:47 PM

do these retain the same offset?

interested in this as well

JackSmiley 05-22-2013 05:32 PM

Just heard from hardrace that these are plug and play, and retains the same offset as the stock hubs.

Redstar 05-22-2013 06:19 PM

$895 is a pretty good price to convert the car to 5x114.3. Seems like you can press in your own studs too if you want. Definitely worth it for those that want more selection for wheels.

Who's going to be the first to order these and review them?

dori. 05-23-2013 10:08 AM

What about options for brake rotors? Would sti rotors work?

JackSmiley 05-23-2013 11:58 PM

12.02mm? Would that mean that it doesnt keep the stock offset?

Redstar 05-24-2013 12:29 PM

The construction between the OEM and Hardrace hubs is probably different, so I wouldn't expect them to be identical in dimensions. If Hardrace claims that the hub won't stick out any further than stock, we don't have any reason not to believe them yet.

I think it's just that the hub itself is thicker and uses longer studs. The angle could be misleading.

FM Wheels 05-24-2013 04:54 PM

If these dimensions don't change the offset stays the same.
