Wonderbar's Driveway Labs BRZ

So, picked up my SWP BRZ Limited in February of this year, I got it used with about 2,000 miles on it. I picked it up with the intent of being a nice, reliable, gas friendly daily driver that will help me stay sane. It's a supplement car to my other toy, a 2006 3.8L Eclipse, turbocharged and modded about as far as I can take it. It's gutted out, solid steel motor mounts and making its way into a track monster.

As I am unable to keep a fun car in stock form. Here is the the little journey that the brz has taken so far.

Can't upload pics from my phone. Gotta dig out the laptop.

Wonderbar 03-30-2013 02:08 AM

Best I can seem to get right now. Got some of them into an album but it won't let me copy and paste the IMG link.

How do you like the H&R springs? I am between getting those or the Eibach pro kit

The h&r's feel great. I AutoX'd them a few weeks ago, good feel.

Off to the dyno, just put fresh royal purple in the motor. Dropped the new maps in from Jeff. :)

Looking forward to see what you make! Post up the charts :happy0180:

Tell us more about this rear diffuser. How did you mount it? It appears you made this yourself and it definitely looks good.

Reggaeboyz 05-31-2013 11:29 PM

Could you post some more pics of the mustache delete

Marcoscrdo 05-31-2013 11:59 PM

How is the perrin crank pulley? Im pretty much stock and trying to lightly mod and seemd like a decent upgrade for around 100$. I keep reading about problems there are with it like risks.. Is that true?

There really isn't any risk. There is no need for a harmonic balanced pulley on a horizontally opposed engine. I know plenty of Subie guys running the Perrin pulley for years with no issues.

Thanks man! This is the polar opposite of my Mitsubishi. My intent is to keep this car as pretty as possible while modding. My mitsu is a gnarly, gutted, unforgiving monster.

Do you have any recent pics of the Eclipse?

Silly hiccup at 6800rpm, not really sure why but we are working to fix it. Still happy with 250whp at 6500rpms.

That hiccup I've seen in 4 different dynos now with the vortech kit. If you figure it out please post. Curious if it's just a tuning item, install issue, or something else

It's not vortech specific. The HKS has it too.

HKS with the same oddity. The only thing I can see from my logs is a timing pull.

I'm liking how that diffuser came out. I wasn't sure about the shape when I saw the early pics (without fins). Looks much better assembled. I'd love to see some pics from farther away if you have any.

I have some but with the diffuser being black, it's hard to make out in my photos. Ill work on some action shots or something this week

2point0 06-03-2013 02:26 PM

I'm also intrigued by your mustache shave. Did you paint the beam or anything?

Evasive Motorsports 06-04-2013 01:38 AM

Very nice build!

yberther 06-04-2013 01:42 PM

How is it driving with a 22mm rear bar? Are you on the stock front?

Looks like an awesome build. Definitely a bunch of the stuff I'd want to do. Coachworks stuff will look awesome.

Stock bar up front. Very easy and predictable rotation!

I did the beam in matte black, blends well with the intercooler

Nice. I'm really tempted to do this. Do you have any pics with the mesh in place? I saw another car (white with red vinyl all over) and originally thought they were just photoshopping the grille area black. Just today I noticed they cut the mustache and mesh went all the way up. Looks so clean.

I haven't had a chance to do the mesh yet. Too many other things goin on.

Wonderbar 06-07-2013 12:19 PM

Picked up a set of wheels! Pics will come as soon as I can find a set of 1.25 lugs somewhere in the state of Washington....
