Will you fit in BRZ? w/ video

For those 6ft+ people wondering if they will fit in the BRZ:

Here you go:

RRnold 01-10-2012 05:04 PM

Not bad. He looks a little cramped and I'm 6'2 200lbs so that's how I'll probably fit in the driver's seat. I'm cool with that!

CSSM 01-10-2012 05:15 PM

Not bad at all, but I still want to see somebody in the back seats

Dimman 01-10-2012 05:25 PM

I'm 6'3" with long legs. So long as they let me put the seat back until it touches the rear, I'll be happy. Civic EG hatch let me do this I fit nicely in it, even with a sunroof. Pretty much makes my car a 2+1, though.

NorCalRider 01-10-2012 05:35 PM

I like the room this car has, a lot more then I originally thought. Jalopnik has really gone downhill lately. All the replys in that thread are completely off topic.

poormans_LFA 01-10-2012 05:42 PM

6'5" and might be in trouble. if only I could have sat in the damn thing at the release

TOMIMOTO 01-10-2012 05:50 PM

I'm Japanese sized. 5'6" - 160lbs. I feel sorry for you giants.

I have V4 GF WRX seats in my RS Coupe. Bigger people have to sit in the back. Haha.

sounds like this isn't the thread for you x)

ITT: people get a chance to brag about their height.

I'm 6'1", and have no problem in RX8. Guessing BRZ will be very close.

Must be Japanese-American cause I don't know many Japanese people that weigh 160lbs at that height unless old man/woman.

I'm kinda glad I'm not that tall and that big.

don't hate cuz some of us got a few inches on you. :bellyroll:

subatoy 01-10-2012 07:17 PM

Probably the only advantage about being 5'8" is
I fit anywhere. Not fitting in a car u want must
Really suck!

well, i did speak w/ Jack Hollis directly (you can read that else where in the forum) at the premier where he told me explicitly 6'5" is the max. exactly what that means i'll have to determine for myself when i finally do get to sit in the car. from looking at the video it really does look like another two inches is probably where you'll cap out in this car. even if i don't fit i wouldn't trade my height for a thing in the world. that much i can tell you.

tranzformer 01-10-2012 08:16 PM

I am also interested in seeing a video clip/pictures of a normal sized driver with people in the back. I am surprised there have not been more of these yet. Not sure why we need more pictures of the same car, as it still looks the same as when I saw it 1 month ago. :)

Sounds vaguely familiar to hear. Btw, I think my wife owns the same sweater as that guy in the video.

I'm not actually Japanese. I'm a white American. I'm just japanese-sized. Hehe.

poormans_LFA 01-10-2012 10:45 PM

one thing that makes this height thing a little weird when people get to talking about it is whether or not they're referring to their height with/without shoes. like i've said elsewhere w/ out shoes i'm 6'4.5" but i pick up a half inch pretty easy when i throw on a pair of shoes.

problem is w/ the Z (and apparently not w/ the AS1) is you sit way too the hell high for a sports car seating position, which IMO should be low.

tripjammer 01-10-2012 11:12 PM

I know I am gonna fit..I am 6 foot 2 and I fit perfect in a 350z, with plenty of room. My sister had a miata back in the day and I for in that too.

Just to continue the offtopic... My mum can make a sweater like that!

poormans_LFA 01-11-2012 02:13 AM

honestly, the backseat? really???

BeRZercar 01-11-2012 08:44 AM

6'7"... I'm feeling pessimistic about my chances.

I just registered for my press pass for the Toronto Autoshow, but if there won't be a BRZ there than I'm driving down to detroit this weekend.

NumbersGuy 01-11-2012 09:28 AM

At 6'2 I am starting to get hope back that I will be able to fit in this car. :) Just can't wear my motorcycle boots when driving it, LOL!

ubersoph 01-11-2012 10:42 AM

... I wonder if I'll fit with a helmet on

6'4" here

whaap 01-11-2012 12:43 PM

5'10", 158 lbs. It should be a perfect fit!

you'll probably pick up another inch in headroom, which means like me, you'll be hitting the max @ 6'5".

poormans_LFA 01-13-2012 10:58 PM

having analysed the clip to death this bone head is probably referring to his last doctors visit when he stood on his bare feet and measured @ 6'3", which means in shoes he's closer to 6'4" if not that. honestly seeing that he still had room between his knees and the steering wheel I have HOPE. are the rest of you referring to your height w/ or w/ out shoes???

ryude 01-14-2012 08:00 AM

I think having too much headroom is a big concern for me. I'm only 5'8", so having 12" of headroom makes a sports car feel like an SUV. I just hope that this car feels like the MR2, just enough room for comfort and connected feel with the car.

KevinDuMa 01-14-2012 10:18 AM

Damn 6"1 and 6"2 is tall already poorsman you're 6"5? and BeRZercar you're 6"7? That's like wwf tall lol Hope you guys can still fit comfortably! Don't want that to be the only reason you guys can't get this car

ryude 01-14-2012 11:08 AM

In the GTI forums short people are complaining about too much headroom, then on this forum tall ass people complaining about not fitting. It's like roles reversed lol.

same here... i HAVE TO fit with a helmet...

tripjammer 01-14-2012 11:55 AM

You can always take off your shoes and drive barefoot!

Capt Canuck 01-14-2012 12:18 PM

It's all about where the height comes from: legs v torso
At 6' 1" I do not anticipate any trouble at all on a day to day basis, but adding a helmet, we'll have to wait and see.

This is very true. I am 6'7" and I fit in an NA miata just fine (yes with the top up) while my dad who is 6'3" cant fit.

I am not going to be able to comfortably where a helmet but I should be able to fit for day to day driving and do a slouch/hunch driving posistion when autoxing.

Agreed on both fronts.
