Unbelievable

Happened at blockbuster last night. I was in the store and someone smashed into my car hard enough to push it 3 feet over then just take off. Of coarse no one saw anything, I really hate people sometimes. The fender and door are completely wrecked and the underbody is damaged as well making the door not able to close right. Taking it to a certified Toyota body shop tomorrow. Attachment 31899

I hate people.

driftartist 03-26-2013 03:24 PM

man excuse my language mods but FUCK people man. jesus what the hell is wrong with people?

Timtamtt 03-26-2013 03:25 PM

It's the curse...

mrlewistan 03-26-2013 03:25 PM

i wonder if our cars have superpowers... mainly invisibility

Mango22 03-26-2013 03:34 PM

Times sure have changed; it seems we now live in a world with no moral conscience. I am so sick of hearing about people doing this $hit and then just driving away. If I had seen who did it, I would have yanked the person out of there car and force fed them the cell phone that they were probably looking at while stupidly backing out of their parking space. Then I would have given you their license plate number.

CrazyWookiee 03-26-2013 03:38 PM

It always blows me away how people can pull this stuff off. What blows me away even more is how people can just walk away instead of taking responsibility for their actions of time lost/property damage/monetary action and stress caused to the person. We spend time working and then put the money towards our cars. And it only takes 2 seconds for us to have to spend more time working and pooling more money to fix peoples 2 second mistakes. People need to stop being cowards and own up.

MightyMeeple 03-26-2013 03:38 PM

So sorry that this happened! Does the Blockbuster or other stores have any security footage that could be reviewed?

Hoping you can get it fixed soon!

spitfire481 03-26-2013 03:41 PM

Toyota certified shop doesn't mean a thing. do some research and find a reputable shop in your area by looking at their work and reviews from previous customers.

chenshuo 03-26-2013 03:45 PM

i like your wheels! what size are those?

Timmy_Jones 03-26-2013 03:49 PM

Wow man, sorry to see that. I hope they had a camera in the parking lot or something.

On a completely unrelated side note...who goes to BlockBuster anyways? They all closed in ME and NH

According to them no.

gzpermadi 03-26-2013 03:54 PM

so sorry for your loss.
I also can't understand why people can do big damage in parking lot.
I mean normally people don't drive fast there and they have more time to see the surroundings compared to driving on highways

That's the issue, in this shit hole I live in there are not any good body shops ( from experience) so I have to go to Pensacola. I'm hoping the actual dealer is best plus the lifetime warranty is good as well at any certified dealer

A BIG +1 on this. Because they're a Toyota shop has nothing to do with how good their work is. A suggestion I've made before is find a high end dealer (Ferrari, Rolls Royce, etc.) that doesn't have their own body shop and ask them who they have do their body work when it's needed, and there are times they need it. They will probably refer you to some small shop off the alley with a guy who is an artist when it comes to body work.

Bruce125 03-26-2013 04:06 PM

That sucks, I hope your shop gets it fixed up perfect and back to you soon! I'm afraid to take my car out of the garage sometimes lol. The problem is we live in a SUV world, if your car isn't big as a bus most people just don't notice or look for it I think.

bdub85 03-26-2013 04:08 PM

Sigh... A lot of people in this world are worthless pieces of scum.

Here is some advice for everyone on this forum.

One of the first mods should be a car cam like the Blackvue. It's a good investment to protect yourself and your car in the future. I plan on running one up front and one in back when I decide to purchase a BRZ.

Check out these two videos.

Guessing you filed a police report? Not that that would help get the footage from adjacent stores with the stores being unhelpful.

I hate how this has become something so common, complete lack of manners and regard for another person's belongings.

Archavious 03-26-2013 04:31 PM

You wouldn't have this problem if you used Netflix...

tennisfreak 03-26-2013 04:31 PM

All you can hope for is whoever did it dies in a fiery ball of death. ;)

Similar shit happened to me back in 2004 when I had a brand new Mazda 3 hatchback (man that was fun to drive).
Run into grocery store for 5 minutes and come out to find my drivers door caved in.
I still hope to this day whoever did it is dead. Nothing I cannot tolerate more than inconsideration and blatant lack of responsibility.

wbradley 03-26-2013 04:33 PM

Asshole backing up in an SUV

i like this guy. my exact way of thinking also.

husker741 03-26-2013 04:37 PM

Sorry man, that sucks. People have no consideration for other's property.

What movie did you get? Hopefully it was something to help take your mind off of it. Caddyshack, Anchorman, Back Door Sluts 9?

Back Door Sluts 9?!? That's the dirtiest porn ever!

Sorry to hear about this hit and run. Had a similar incident at a movie theater when I parked next to a handicapped space. Willing to be the grandma who owned the buick next to me never stopped when she scraped down the side of my car with her bumper. At least, that's what I guess happened. Fortunately, the door wasn't dented and I was able, with a liberal use of touch-up paint and a polishing pad, to fix it.

SVTSHC 03-26-2013 04:57 PM

Gotta love people, complete asshats.

RWD-boxer 03-26-2013 05:03 PM

Ask the blockbuster the last 10 in the store and go hunt them down

Wow..:eyebulge: some people are just plain stupid.. Time to get a dash camera...

since I have 2 phones I leave my iPhone 4 on my dash mount and record what's happening...:paddle: I'm always parking way far from people just in case..

Sucks to see this happen to you hope you get her fixed up ASAP..

civicdrivr 03-26-2013 05:25 PM

Sorry to hear about this OP. I'd get a dash cam and always back in to parking spots so you can see the car leave. I despise inconsiderate assholes that have no problem leaving the scene of an accident (and now crime).

Having an iPhone on your dash is begging for a smash and grab.

Nevermore 03-26-2013 06:16 PM

... People still go to Blockbuster?

Sorry to hear about your car, that damage makes me cringe. Did you hear/see it from in the store? Usually those lots aren't too big. Would've been nice if you could have caught a glimpse of his plate as he took off.

Mr.Jay 03-26-2013 06:19 PM

wow

I would check all body shops within the area and try and find traded paint cause thats deff will not buff out on either car

WolfsFang 03-26-2013 06:22 PM

blockbuster is still around? Also there are no camera's in the parking lot?

LeeMaster 03-26-2013 06:29 PM

Blockbuster is still in business? Shit, this is why I only use Redbox now for renting movies/games. Grab n go. I really hate people, blind ass motherfuckers

Razzle 03-26-2013 06:57 PM

Sorry to hear Kwise1. Curse that muther f#$%er for not even having the balls to own up. I hope his balls rot.

^please please listen to this. my frs got rear ended a few weeks after i bought it. i had the same idea to go to the toyota dealer and get the job done, thinking they will do the best repair. i wasn't happy with the work at all, the paint job was no where near how it looked before the accident. to make matters worse, there were scratches all over the car that weren't there before. i angrily returned the car to the dealer to have it redone and it still looks like crap. the cars a lease, and for this reason alone, i don't think im going to buy it after my three years are up.

do yourself a favor and find the best place you can possibly find, i can tell you right now, it probably wont be the dealer

GNS 03-26-2013 07:46 PM

Why are people so stupid?
