Subaru's site has been updated

http://www.subaru.com/brz/2013/index.html

Has some specs now and a new photo of the dark gray car.

HIDs, LSD, Navi, and bluetooth confirmed standard.

Alcantara/Leather, PTS, DZCC and Auto listed as options.

Longhorn248 01-09-2012 12:03 PM

But what about the heated seats!?

Dave-ROR 01-09-2012 12:06 PM

That's part of the Alcantara seats, but they didn't list it seperately.

Wow, the side shot of the gray BRZ looks very nice. I hope they release pricing information.

I believed Motortrend awhile ago. Still not happy about it though

ayau 01-09-2012 01:06 PM

Since auto climate control is optional for the BRZ, does that mean that the lower spec BRZ will have the same cheap climate control console as the FR-S?

stlgrym3 01-09-2012 01:19 PM

wow, standard Navigation, great!

I think that's a pretty legit assumption. I would expect the alcantara, DZCC, and push start to be the Limited edition of the car. We should know all of the specifics by the end of tomorrow at the latest. (What are we going to start threads about after that!?!?!?)

statuskuo 01-09-2012 01:51 PM

no more news?!

NumbersGuy 01-09-2012 02:22 PM

I am in love with the grey color, just like I knew I would! :) Please, please give me some interior specs so I can see if I will have enough leg room.

i have the feeling "spring" will turn into "late spring darn near summer".

Based on comparison shots I would expect the interior to be about the same size as a Porsche 911.

Interesting; leather/alcantara, keyless entry/start, and auto HVAC are "available". Would those perhaps be the Limited trim?

I have to admit, I'm disappointed that Nav is standard. If I end up with the BRZ, the Nav will be up for sale immediately.

Giccin 01-09-2012 02:40 PM

I got all Jittery. :>

You can get seat heaters with cloth in other brands these days (Ford does it at least, I'd assume some others too). Technically these will be partially leather still.. the side bolsters anyways :P

So no chance of a big brake option? that seriously sucks.
Doesn't appear to be, which I'm fine with. Without rehashing our last convo on the topic I don't see any need for it.

Navigation-Uber SUCK. Thats another component to drive the cost of the Sti up, I believe this newest year you can order it without again? May be wrong.
But christ so much rather not have the weight or cost of navigation especially in a drivers car and with smartphones. Probably left over gps from china they got for cheap.
Agree that I'd rather not have Navi built in and forced on you. I wish it were simply an option by itself.

Oh sweet irony.

Yup suspension does look lower than the FR-S's

height differences

FR-S - 51.2 in.

BRZ - 50.6 in.

Are you going with the Limited trim Rye?

Just the difference from measuring with antenna and without. They're the same height.

Well the Scion people say their height does NOT include antenna base

:iono:

Edit: if I remember it was 51.6 in. wit the antenna unless they been lying this whole time lol

Yes they do say that, but at 50.6" without.

Edit: Looks like Scion is all over with height spec, they must have really bad internal communications. I still think FR-S and BRZ are the same height.

Ah whatever. I wanted my magic number of 49 in. for height, but I guess less than 2 inches can't be that bad.

Dave-ROR 01-09-2012 03:17 PM

Yay, on the list at my favorite subaru dealership :)

To be honest I'm still undecided regarding FR-S or BRZ or BRZ Limited. There's still plenty of time to feel out each "trim level". Since they're all basically the same car, I'll weigh the standard equipment vs. options vs. pricing and make a decision.

Just to write things out for me to see, the BRZ standard gets HID & Nav over the FR-S, and the Limited adds Auto HVAC, keyless entry/start, and leather/alcantara. I hope the heated seats are in the BRZ somewhere [w/Limited?]. I'm curious to see how the pricing structure is relative to all 3 trims.

Traditionally I'm not excited about low-grade leather and would rather have cloth, but I'll reserve judgement until I see the leather/alcantara in person. Also, if the cloth is super crappy, that'll sway me to the Limited.

Are there other Subaru models at the dealer that might have comparable cloth or leather/alcantara to go check out?

Ryephile 01-09-2012 04:03 PM

I'm not in the Subaru supplier loop enough to know that answer. It's entirely possible the materials are shared over other platforms.

Dimman 01-09-2012 04:29 PM

Even with the bumper insert I'm liking the looks of the BRZ more and more.

NorCalRider 01-09-2012 05:23 PM

The BRZ Limited is sounding perfect. Now all it needs to be is priced at or around 25k and I will be golden.

nrclptcnsmniak 01-09-2012 06:47 PM

Pricing is what I'm waiting for. I'm not willing to pay much more for things I feel I do not really need like leather seats auto climate control and keyless entry and start. It makes good eye candy but not worth it if it's too expensive. I just hope since the fog lights are part of the limited trim then if I do purchase the premium I can add those on after the fact like the imprezas

Dark 01-09-2012 06:59 PM

Hopefully, aftermarket will make LED stripe specifically for BRZ to replace the stock ones.

Same.

Those leather seats look like a nice addon. As well as the the fog-lights.

Everything else is unnecessary for me. Unless its a short shifter and some bushings. :P

WhiteGDB 01-09-2012 07:19 PM

I think a BRZ limited can be had for around $25k even if msrp is $27k, as long as you're not hellbent on being one of the first owners.

I was hoping that I can do just a check list to add other options lol. Ah well, main thing is pricing.
