It's actually pretty simple, when you are about to put the plate on.... don't.:bellyroll:

I'll make it out Wed night, but not for the caravan.

QuikSilveRX-8 03-25-2013 10:05 AM

True, CA does require you to have a front plate secured on the bumper(8" above from the ground and not on top of the dash in the car). It really depends where you drive and how the local police deal with this. With the type of cars we drive, it's nerve racking seeing a cop car pass and see it in your mirrors make a U-turn, :iono: guilty by association.

Parking meter attendants will no doubt issue you a ticket on the spot for not displaying front plates if your car is parked in a metered space/lot or a city owned parking structure. Nevertheless, both will issue a fix-it-ticket. You'd have to pay the fine and also show that you have properly installed your front plates.

I recieved my ticket a little more than two years ago and my fine was $40. Now it may cost more than what I payed and the amount you will pay is the same towards the purchase of a new set of front and rear license plates from the DMV. You just have to turn your old one in to the DMV office for that new set.

QuikSilveRX-8 03-26-2013 05:01 AM

There is nothing within the three miles besides Pizza Hut in TARGET and Jack's across the street I think. I'm working until 11:30, will miss out on this week's meet.

03Z33 03-26-2013 11:32 AM

There are a few food places around that area. Jack in the Box, a couple Italian spots, Panda, and a Starbucks all across the street. I think the Panda Express is inside the Vons with the Starbucks. Otherwise there's another a few miles away. Don't know what time most of those places close though. There is a really good Mexican spot like 3.5 miles away called El Indio that's open like 24 hours. There's also an IHOP nearby as well. If you want some shaved ice, theres also Get Shaved a couple or so miles away.

I'm sure there's more that I just can't remember off the top of the head.

oso_25 03-26-2013 04:24 PM

I might show up got to be motivated to drive up to the valley and back

All of my experiences with 86'ers has been positive and inviting. I'm getting exhausted from driving all over SoCal to attend chapter meetings, but at least this one is less than 40 minutes from home, haha.

Looking forward to meet you all tonight!
