accident #2

http://i1280.photobucket.com/albums/...psc8155971.jpg

Well 2 months after being rear ended I get hit again tonight. I was pulling out of my friends street and it was clear until a crotch rocket came flying around the cornee and hit me. Don't know how fast he was going but he spun my car around and then got back on his bike and took off. Have a hug dent above the drivers side rear wheel and the bumper was on the ground

Pieces of his bike

Linniea 03-22-2013 01:48 AM

Looks like it was a Suzuki GSXR 600 or 1000 based on the pieces of fairing, probably between '06-'08 not sure if that helps. Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

For those that don't know, you're not obligated to have insurance on a motorcycle in the state of Florida. If his bike was running, he probably didn't have insurance, and figured he'd cut his losses with a trip to the ER and repairing his bike later.

BRZranger 03-22-2013 04:15 AM

This type of crash you probably would have been 50/50 for fault since you we're pulling out on the street; you'd be stuck with deductible anyways. You're right though, he/she is probably in worse shape.

dori. 03-22-2013 04:28 AM

wow THAT sucks.

not only did you get cheated out of your deductible but you got cheated by the laws of physics too

I'd say check the local hospitals for anyone with a broken hand/arm that reported in shortly after the crash.

You have very good detective skills, my friend. It looked like a pile of plastic bits to me, but it's definitely this bike, you're correct.

XCIV.Andrew 03-22-2013 05:00 AM

GODDAMM! That guy on the bike is a boss for getting back up from a crash like that! But a **** for dipping out. Sorry bros :suicide:

KritiK 03-22-2013 05:03 AM

OMG sorry to hear that, I think chuck norris was on bike.
Hope your car get fixed well and police catch that motherfucker

Would I get flamed for telling that truth that the two bikes that seem to attract the most douches are in fact the Hayabusa and GSX-R? Just asking.

In the biking world, we call them SQUIDs (Stupid, Quick, Underdressed, Ignorant, Dangerous), or some variation of that, as opposed to douches, which many of them are. But it goes for lots of sports bikes. The Hayabusa is definitely a huge offender, but other than that it's pretty well split between R1/CBR/GSXR/Ninja.

Florida laws in regards to motorcycling are really silly. I remember when I first got my motorcycle license, I was told that if you were over 21, and you had a driver's license, you could ride a motorcycle without a motorcycle permit to learn. I thought to myself "well, how can an officer even tell how long they've been learning if there's no motorcycle learners permit for those over 21?" Pretty much, there isn't. The result is relatively young guys buying overpowered bikes, and driving them stupidly.

FRSfan111 03-22-2013 05:42 AM

Wow, impressed that he got up. I'm sorry for ur pore car. Honestly though, I miss Florida a lot. Born and raised in Oregon, lived in Florida for 2 years and I can't stand this crapy weather. If it wasn't for the difference in pay and mountain passes, I'd move back.

I'm into bikes I know what a Squid is, lol :) anyway you aren't kidding about the Hayabusa being a huge offender, that's like the douche's choice. Some are even too lazy to say Hayabusa, they just say "busa". I like sportsbikes but I would think twice about joining that crowd. The squid percentage is extremely high. I like the stand your ground law you people have but it has some issues like what constitutes an actual threat on the person's life and what not.

Cheddar 03-22-2013 08:56 AM

SQUID >?

That's pretty incredible that the bike 1) Spun you around, 2) Was still drivable, 3) Didn't kill the driver already, 4) Isn't required to have insurance in Florida.

And two accidents in the span of 2 months? I'm glad you're alright and it's minor cosmetic damage on the car, but those are some bad odds! Hope everything works out.

shawnperolis 03-22-2013 09:14 AM

That's some serious bullshit. Sorry about your car...

:confused0068:Yeah! seems a little unrealistic or even impossible. (not at all saying you are lying) just seems to me that the bike would be destroyed to the point where it would be unrideable - let alone the rider would be injured beyond the point of being able to ride as well. the damage on your car is quite significant.

I ride a CBR600RR and have crashed twice at the track and know what that feels like, but I have never hit something.

Tt3Sheppard 03-22-2013 09:50 AM

Any vin numbers on the broken parts?

Doubtful. Those parts are just pieces of the fairing. The VIN would typically be on the neck of the frame/top of motor.

leon78 03-22-2013 10:13 AM

Cars pull infront of bikes....bikes dont hit cars all that often....best of luck.

sevi21 03-22-2013 10:46 AM

Dafuq?! Sorry for the bad luck again man...

HunterGreene 03-22-2013 10:55 AM

Maybe you'll be ok from now on, since you can attribute one accident to the 86 curse, and now one to the Florida curse. Glad you're ok, and glad your insurance hasn't threatened to drop you yet!

kmbkk 03-22-2013 12:17 PM

Dang, sorry to hear about your bad luck. Just another reason I don't want to ride a bike in this area (not you, but the other driver).

Dezoris 03-22-2013 12:46 PM

Forced weight reduction.

zenki_levin 03-22-2013 12:50 PM

Sorry about the car but that must have been a ridiculously strong bike. How did his front forks survive such an impact? It probably was one of those 'you had to be there to believe it' kinda moments.

akuhei 03-22-2013 12:54 PM

Again? Wow, that sucks. Sorry to hear about it. Horrible luck.

BRZerk 03-22-2013 01:00 PM

send this to jalopnik!

occasionally they help police locate hit n run drivers by assisting in the ID of a vehicle. maybe you'll get lucky.

mact 03-22-2013 01:13 PM

This might be a shot in the dark, but maybe you could post this in the southeast regional sections of the GSX-R forums asking if anyone knows anyone... etc.

Linniea 03-22-2013 01:20 PM

The worst part is that Enterprise won't give me a rental with my expired license even though i have an active duty military id with a card from the IL sec of state saying that my license is valid with military ID.... And i had tickets to see deftones in orlando tonight... I hate everything today

+1 :eyebulge: Something sounds Phishy about this crash. I can't quite phathom it.
Hard to believe all this happened.

Sucks though. Best of wishes to you.
