Getting tints what's better?
I'm getting tints at auto-links soon (Toronto/Canada).
I'm getting the pinnacle formula one film but should I get: 15 20 30 All around? Sent from my iPhone (switching to android soon) |
Whatever's legal...

Go 20s all around.

No tint. See better out of the car and be seen in the car.
I've had double limo tint on a greenhouse-like Civic, you couldn't see into it with your hand pressed against the window. Parties in the woods with no lighting made it a nightmare. That was 5% I believe.
The next Civic got 20% all around, it was still too dark when outside lighting is at a minimum. Factor in where you intend to be doing most of your night driving and decide from there. |
I have had 8, 20, and 35. 35 is what I prefer. The others make driving at night difficult.
When we boughat my wife's car two years ago the dealership had already had the windows tinted. I liked it and it made the car look good. That is till we drove it at night. I don't know what number tint they used but as nice as it looks in the day light it's equally difficult to see out of at night. Only because we seldom drive at night I haven't had it removed. Because of that I've decided not to tint my FR-S. Just be sure to keep that in mind when you decide.

I have 15 all around on the Focus. That car isn't too bad to see out of, but it's also all windows. I'll probably get between 15 and 25 on the frs.
As dark as legally possible. 30% on the front and 20% on the rear glass is what I would do (while still being legal in ME).
I have 30 and 20 on my other car. 30 on windows for each door and hatch, and 20 on the rear quarters. I will be going 30 all around on the BRZ.
I like how my tinting turned out (see signature).
I have 35% in the front and 20% in the back. Good compromise for visibility.
I have the ForumlaOne Pinnicle series tint 30% all around. Depends on how much night time driving you'll do. Some people think 20% might be a little too dark for night time.
I have 20% on mine and I don't feel it's too much. You do have to remember that the windows have a bit of tint to them to begin with so it will change your numbers. The 20 on my windows reads at 15% with a meter, before the windows were done they read at 75%, so take that into account if you're trying to stay legal.
I have 30%, but I kinda wish I went with 20%. Oh well, my next car will have 20%. I don't think I can own a car without tint from now on.
Just do what Mac and Dennis did when they solved the gas crisis, paint the windows black so noone can see inside or out. looks extra covert and cool

in southern california (pretty sunny) the popular one is 35 on sides and 20 on back.
I have 35% on the front two windows and 25% all the rest of the way around and it looks great. They can't test the rear windows since they cant get tester on them, so do your front two windows legal and the rear ones whatever u want.
I have 35 (legal) all around, this is my car... up to you in the end.

Thanks for your input guys. It's good to know that the car is slightly tinted. I drive mostly in the daytime. I think I'll do 20% Pinnacle Formula One.

I would do anything legal . Effin poopoo pulled me over just a week ago in my other car . $170 ticket for no front license plate and tint too dark( I have 15%) ...
I don't mind spending the $$ for some mods , but for a stupid shit like that I was furious . |
I have Formula One Pinnacle 30% on all the windows, and Llumar Air80 on the full front windshield, and I love this combo. It blocks out more heat than standard tint, and honestly, 30% is plenty on these cars. Dark interior combined with the small cabin make it look just right.
I had 15% on my old Toyota Avalon, and though I loved the privacy, it was a pain at night. http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps0958248a.jpg |
