If there is a TSB, you should generate a .pdf and link it here...

TSB or no TSB theirs no point to get it done because it's not going to work. The chirps keep coming back if you've read the other 60+ pages in the other thread of people having their pumps switched out and still having the same issue.
Just trying to save ya some time, but do as you please. Good Luck. |

Why wouldnt you take it in? id rather have a fuel pump for free with 0 miles on it, than one thats got 15k miles of abuse. Not saying anythings wrong with the 15k mile one, but hey, brand new for free works for me. |
Took my car in on Monday for the issue, and got a phone call yesterday saying Toyota Canada released a fix. They didn't tell me exactly what the fix was (they just left a message) but when I phone back today, I will definitely get more details.

After its done. Let me know if the power of your car feels the same.
|
normally its an inspection first so if theres no signs of the fuel pump failing or noise coming from the fuel pump, a dealership will not bother replacing it. TSBs normally come with a set of instructions on how to correctly inspect for a faulty pump.
you have to remember that just because a recall/tsb/campaign is put up. Doesn't mean every car between vins are all effected by the "insert frs problem here". |

Do as you please though. Just trying to save someone a headache. |

yeah im not sure how you would abuse a fuel pump either. Im just saying, i prefer new parts over used ones. Especially when theyre free new parts. If the car burnt to a crisp thats awesome, id pick up another brand new one with no miles on it without spending a dime. |

Here is the Toyota Canada TSB for the fuel pump
|
Not an updated part number, just another part.

Your crickets will return. Same part number. Waste of time.

Had my fuel pump replaced three weeks ago. No crickets yet after 700-800 miles.
|
I brought my car in for that tsb. It was gone for a month after that it came back. But now It's intermittent.
|
If I was in Canada I'd just fill-up with 91 shell. So far I only heard one report of crickets on that gas, so I tend to think that it was a fluke and Shell power 91 is cricket-free.
|
I'm sorry to shit on your "omfg fuel pump TSB" party but this WILL NOT fix the issue. :(
The issue is with the valve in the pump not liking ethanol. The only fix (for now) is to run E0 (pure gas) in your car. |

Secondly, if you wait until closer to your original warranty expiration to have your first replacement, and should that not be an updated model # and still produce crickets, then you should be able to report and document that it did not fix once again. Then, in the future when they do finally release a properly working pump and your warranty is past expiration, they should retroactively repair it because you documented it being still chirping before your warranty expired. Of course I would make absolutely certain, probably even get it in writing about the possibility of a future repair being retroactive because it didn't work twice. Plan ahead. |

I never had crickets on Shell V 91. Haven't tested with other ethanol blend gas.

How long did the install took? Do they have to keep the car for more than a day? I am looking to get this fixed. Did your cricket return? Thanks |
