Single exit exhaust?

So I've been in the market for a new exhaust this past month and am having an unbelievably hard time choosing.. I love single exit exhausts but seeing as how our bumpers are meant for a dual tip it just doesn't really line up or look good at all.

Are there any aftermarket bumpers out there that are dedicated to single exits? If so where can i find/buy them?

Also, I know Greddy has the RS single and there is the T1R/nameless along with a few others.. anyone have any recommendations for singles?

If you wait a month or two, then the Tomei expreme Ti will be out. Also the Amuse R1 Titan single exit version if your willing to pay the price.

We've done a few single exits

The ptuning exhaust has the option for single exit or dual exit. Should be pretty easy to switch between the two.

Is that a full cat back or just an axle back? The more I think about it the more I am leaning towards a custom single exit axle back and a front pipe.

cat back...you would be hard pressed to fit a muffler length wise if you retained the positioning of the stock mid pipe.

Has anyone addressed the question of a bumper hole cover/or replacement diffuser especially made for single tip exhausts?

This my 2 & 1/2" single exit exhaust. (Sorry for the crappy pics; they were taken by the workshop's smart phone). Neat huh?

Hardrock4445 07-17-2013 07:26 AM

Best sounding single exit IMO

Is there any advantage to having a single exit exhaust?

I have a Tomei on my Evo. Well worth the money. I know those guys over there really well and their stuff is usually good in stock. I can get you a good discount if you are interested.

Usually weight, it's also just simpler.

I'm a big fan of K.I.S.S.

Interesting, so you can make it a single exit exhaust just by changing out that one middle section?

Can I get some more pics of your car? I also have a firestorm and I'm thinking on that wheel setup. I'd like to see how it looks at a few different angles. Thanks.

I've had the ptuning exhaust for a few months now and yes it's that easy. I have switched back and forth a few times. Takes 10-15 mins with very basic tools.

Exhaust looks amazing in dual exit, and I really like the single exit also, although friends have said it looks weird due to the cut out for a second tip.

I use dual for dd street set up, and when I want to do auto-x or track I switch to single. I have a couple videos on YouTube with this exhaust (I will post later when not on my phone) and it sounds amazing too.

This dude made his own. Should be simple enough.

Yes, that 10" section actually comes with the exhaust.

Are you doing the 19" staggered set-up as well or the 18"?

Flat Black VW 07-20-2013 01:28 PM

Heres a couple videos of the PTuning exhaust in single format from an auto-x event:

And if you skip to about 7:40 in this one it has a GoPro aimed at the exhaust which shows how it sounds.

Thanks, I'm more leaning towards the 18" side. I cannot decide on staggered or square. Probably staggered. But I'm also looking at the Work Emotions. So I dunno, wheel choices have always been tough for me.
