David Bush Photo FR-S shots

Figured I may as well plug myself on here. I do automotive photography for a living, and use my FR-S as a test subject fairly often. This thread will be dedicated to some of the better shots, and I'll update it as time goes on.

If anyone is interested in having photos taken of their FR-S or BRZ, feel free to PM me and we can work something out :party0030:

Nice shots! Post some more plzzz

hushypushy 03-18-2013 04:35 PM

Cool shots man, it's very hard to make Raven or Asphalt stand out like that (which is the main reason I didn't want one!).

I added you on Flickr, maybe I'll see you around some day.

Thanks. I'm using a Canon 5DII and 5DIII, 50mm f/1.2, 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II, 17-40mm f/4 L, and a 300mm f/4 L IS with 1.4x extender, and various lighting equipment.

Here's some recent snaps from a track day assignment. @Touge Monster and some other folks were there tracking their FR-S' that day at Laguna Seca, so I got a couple of them flying by.

5DIII = me jealous. And also the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II and the 17-40mm f/4 L :)

Test shot my car with a medium format Phase-One IQ160 camera on Friday. The detail is incredible. Check out the massive full resolution version here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/davidbu...n/photostream/

I thought by the title, "Hmm, if someone is using their name for photos, they better be good." And yep, they sure are. Wow, that's brochure quality man. Nice!

FR-S Detail by davidbushphoto.com, on Flickr

wow, that's some detail -- you gotta make sure you fully detail your car when you take a photo with a camera like that, or every little speck of dust or imperfection will show. :eyebulge:

These photos are amazing. One of them is now my desktop background.

I know, right? I washed it the night before, but the drive across the city to the studio left a bit of grime, and it barely takes anything to show up. Gotta investigate with a microscope prior to shooting

Time, patience, and a positive attitude

..and no, you dont need a three thousand dollar camera to start, if you have the eye for it, you'll do just fine.

Thank you for the encouragement!

May I ask, what sort of post processing do you do afterwards? If any at all.

I'll be doing more studio sessions in a studio based in Livermore coming up pretty soon. Thinking about arranging an 86 group session, and I'll likely post a feeler in the NorCal section about it, and I'd do a mirror post in here as well. You'd be welcome to stop in to check it out, or have your car shot if desired, then you could get a taste of my process.
