Sorry for the wait guys, but here's a teaser dyno video and some pics of our prototype turbo system that we've been developing and testing.

In case someone mentions it..... we did not copy anyone's design for our bottom mount setup. As Kanundrum, Flat Back VW, and tons of our other customers can vouch for, we had our GT3076R turbo hung on Kanundrum's R&D FR-S at the beginning of last summer before anybody even released a single pic of any FR-S/BRZ turbo kit. Yes it's taken us a while to finish this, but we like to take our sweet time developing certain projects. :D

The car is very quiet on the dyno, because we're using a recirculated WG configuration shown in the pics below:

Here's a full engine bay shot with our optional oil and vacuum distribution block assembly. We're still prototyping our airbox and will posts pics of it when we're finished.

Narrow-angle divorced/recirculated WG for optimum power and quietness. We'll offer a DTA WG tube option for those that want the noise.

That looks amazing! Certainly looks like a high quality setup.

Mark me impressed!

suaveflooder 03-16-2013 02:28 AM

Love this! My favorite is that you can't see the turbo!

TyperRspec789 03-16-2013 02:56 AM

So this kit deletes the stock strut tower bars? I like the design a lot!

DBacon1052 03-16-2013 03:25 AM

This kit looks very nice!

mact 03-16-2013 03:54 AM

Did I read this correctly? 297.8 whp at 6.2 psi? Amazing.

swift996 03-16-2013 10:16 AM

Seems like a complicated routing structure. Good numbers, looking forward to seeing more.

White_Lightning 03-16-2013 12:54 PM

I love how this kit makes power from way down low. The vacuum plate on the firewall is a nice touch. P Tuning sounds awfully familiar. Haven't they done some work with Hondas in the past? The red coating is kind of their signature, correct? Would love to see the exhaust end of this setup!

dabocx 03-16-2013 01:06 PM

What turbo are they using?

kanundrum 03-16-2013 01:49 PM

GT30

Thanks, was going to ask but I assumed with that power curve being a little more biased to the 5K+ rpm range (relative to the GT28).

Looks great, are these pics you took of his FRS today or are these from when you were testing it on your car? I went and checked out your car back in the summer and I dont remember it having red pipes.

kanundrum 03-16-2013 02:06 PM

It was my car until November, that's when they popped it on @Mrc@ptuning car. Will be going back on my car soon enough though :) drove it and rode it and as anyone can attest to a turbo FRS. Its a bat out of hell

We're not completely sold on whether anyone will notice the difference in structural rigidity with the tie bars missing. However, since they're there from the factory, we'll be developing a simple custom passenger side bar to replace the existing bar.

We're running a Garrett GT3076R.

Whats even more amazing is that their dyno has a reputation for breaking hearts.

Was this on 93 or E85?

Not a fan of the routing/placement either. I like short pipes!

Thanks. Our intercooler routing, though longer than one on a front mount turbo, is still shorter than any that you'll find on a WRX or STi. We were able to avoid using any tight radius bends with our set-up too.

The flip side to having a longer intercooler routing is having a much shorter and straighter exhaust path off of the turbo to the exhaust tip.

Yes, thanks for picking up on this. They don't call it the heartbreak dyno for nothing. :p We only post uncorrected Dyno Dynamics numbers. There is no "x" factor in any of our dyno charts. This tune was on 93 pump.

Thanks, the red is the same signature "Time Attack Red" that we use on our championship winning Turbocharged Time Attack tC.

The vacuum and oil distribution block was originally designed for the S2000, but we've adapted it for use on this car. Yes, we do offer a low mount turbocharger system for the S2000 too.

We'll try to post up some videos next week. BTW, these numbers were achieved with a divorced recirculated wastegate too. We'll have an option for a DTA WG setup as well.

xDBOYx 03-16-2013 03:08 PM

Very nicely done. Different then other kits but it looks nice. Any pics of turbo placement.

stilletto 03-16-2013 03:21 PM

Always loved your work with the tC1. Subscribed!

Thanks. We're trying to continue the trend with the FR-S/BRZ.

Mr.Jay 03-16-2013 04:19 PM

damn colour me impressed

not a huge fan of the pipping but you got me with the numbers and curve

JesseE 03-16-2013 04:27 PM

You guys have any idea on timeline and pricing structure?

Zgrinch 03-16-2013 04:29 PM

How about some driving videos...please.

Mrc@ptuning 03-16-2013 04:32 PM

Here's a graph of our boost curve.

We're still working on finishing our cold air box (We've gone through a few prototypes already) for the filter along with a few other things. We'll have this information in the next few weeks.

All of our turbo system components are production quality (i.e. single bend intercooler piping, downpipe, exhaust, CNC bracketry, etc.). Initial production therefore generally takes longer than a build as you go product.

We'll try to get some videos up by sometime next week.

NJA 03-16-2013 05:42 PM

Kit looks very solid!

JesseE 03-16-2013 05:49 PM

Very nice guys! very very nice!

Immortality 03-16-2013 06:33 PM

Very nice!!! I will be keeping an eye on this for sure as I have to decide on a turbo once I get my BRZ in a couple months.

I can definitely attest to the fact that they will be doing a good bit of development for the frs/brz. I have been in contact with them pretty much since I got my brz and they are always looking for new quality parts to make for this platform.

Especially looking forward to their exhaust which should be ready sometime soon!

kanundrum 03-17-2013 01:24 AM

It should be coming in the next few days I think, my car will be there for the next few days as well for suspension work testing exhaust fitment. Make sure to try and stop by on saturday for the detailers domain meet

SalM 03-17-2013 01:40 AM

price of turbo kit approximately? And any way to bump up the boost and make a bunch more potential power running E85 aswell?

DIM 03-17-2013 03:19 AM

Let's see a pic of that turbo manifold / placement please. :)

phatpanda 03-17-2013 03:51 AM

Picture from underneath car pls

Coheed 03-17-2013 02:54 PM

The best part of the GT3076r imho is the sound. The 6 blade compressor makes a nice sound... like a jet readying for takeoff...

Exactly what I heard I was very shocked out the sound as I have never heard it before but both driving and riding inside the car really does make it sound awesome
