Gauging Interest: AZP Private Track Day at NJMP
 

I'm trying to gauge interest in having a private track day for our clients and prospective clients at NJMP Thunderbolt this spring. It would involve a Novice group and an Advanced group, each getting about 4hrs of track time each. Novices would have instructors and I'll have Alex working the grill for lunch!

It will be on a weekday and cost is looking to be in the $300 range.

Interested. Only been on the thunderbolt track one other time and that was on my cbr600rr. Would love to try It in my brz.

yes! they will have instructors and helmets to rent, if anything everyone is more than friendly, if i'm not out there you can borrow mine! :thumbsup:

no other way to learn than to have seat time! and i'm sure you will be allowed to go out shotgun in a more advanced drivers car!

this sounds like fun only track ive ever been on was limerock!

Wow, I'm totally impressed. I put this post up on LGT and here and I'm getting a huge response from you guys.

I must now get the wheels turning on my end to make this happen. Having been a track instructor for 10 years as well as very involved in road racing on all different levels, it is a great feeling to have so many folks actually interested in going to the track. Time to reach out and get all the items in place including a Grand-am and World Challenge Road racer to give the track walk and classroom!

Make it between April 25th and May 14th or after June 21st and I'm in :burnrubber:

This would be basically a more indepth track school. You will get between 3-4 hrs of actual track time with your instructor on track with you driving and them coaching as well as classroom instruction with our Grand Am Professional Race Car Driver/Coach. Aaron Poveledo has road raced all over the world and currently is racing in the Grand-Am series (we actually help sponsor his car) and is a Professional Track coach. He will be on hand for the classroom sessions and will give a track walk that is I valuable. He will also be on hand to give pointers and answer questions you may have about professional racing as well.

This is awesome. I considered myself a great driver but I'm probably still doing something wrong and to have classroom time that would be great. Lol besides the only experience I have was self taught from hooning around during my teenage years and a few track days. But never with a instructor to critique me and show me how to do it properly.

Assuming I have the funds come June, YES!!

I've been there three times, but never got to race a real car (I've done the kart racing 3 times, which is awesome).

Even if u don't have the money come out and hang with us.

So I like it.

Yup, once I lock in the Pro Driver I will get the ball rolling in terms of the date and signups. I should hopefully have him locked down (you know those race car drivers!) this weekend so look for info middle to end of next week.

Internships don't give you a day off. [lol]

Bummer, well IF this comes off without a hitch, we will likely do one later on in the summer as well. All depends on how many people actually come out for it.

That's the nature of renting a track. If by chance the track isn't being used for some kind of event, rental fees are always more expensive on a weekend. Guess who the cost is passed along to.

Yup all the weekends at NJMP are booked up for this year. Rental prices for Thurs->Sun are roughly 2x that of a Mon->Wed one, and as you said the cost gets passed along...
