request for moderators?

Can we have a separate forum for wheels and tires?

On boards where suspension/brakes/wheels/tires are all in the same forum....95% of threads become one of the following:

1. Will these wheels fit in this offset?
2. Which style/size/color wheel should i get?

These are important questions, but all the suspension and brake discussion suffers because all those threads get hidden among the wheel stuff. It's so much better for everyone when the wheel/tire forum is separate...more discussion of all topics instead of one thing taking over.

Just an idea. It works well on nasioc.

Works well on miata.net as well

WhiteGDB 01-03-2012 01:06 AM

Plus. Infinity.

Dave-ROR 01-03-2012 01:18 AM

Definately agree.

chulooz 01-03-2012 01:38 AM

Yes. I hope your idea springs results so the many wheel threads wont damper other drivetrain discussions.

:bellyroll:

Another vote here to split the forums.

Midnight Run 01-03-2012 04:15 AM

completely agree.

Levi 01-03-2012 09:28 AM

You mean one forum for brakes and suspension an one for wheel an tires? Yes!

Racecomp Engineering 01-03-2012 10:04 AM

^ yes, one forum for brakes + suspension, and another for wheels + tires.

glad to see people agree!

Yay for clever posts

A separate wheels forum would be a great idea, people don't have the self discipline to stick to a single thread so might as well round em all up in one place.

Syldrin 01-03-2012 11:03 AM

Works on Scion life really well

leaf... 01-03-2012 11:46 AM

+1. I completely agree.

The forum will get proper sections and sub-sections once we get real close to the launch. There really isn't enough traffic here yet or a flood of new threads that forces us to need these sections right now. But we will get them soon. :)

Can we elect our Mods? That'd be pretty cool

I'd vote for Ichi, Wings, PIT (when he's on lol), Zaku, Giccin, Dave-ROR, some others too

Honorable mentions to a lot of others passed that 900 post mark. I know for sure I'm missing some candidates,

BUT it's all up to Hachi, our Patriot leader lol

As a longtime mod on another car forum, this isn't really the best idea. People who are popular rarely make effective moderators. Mods need an even temper, good organizational skills, and good people skills to do their job effectively. Sometimes popular people are a good fit, but it really needs to be handled on a case-by-case basis.

That being said, I don't want to invalidate your list. Some of the users there I think would be good candidates.

My list then stands. They're pretty down to Earth, and can scare off them newbies when they need to lol :bellyroll:

But like I said it's up to Hachi; The Chosen One

Syldrin 01-04-2012 11:32 AM

Giccin can't be a mod. she would just spend all day banning everyone.

I hate when things aren't a popularity contest, it's like everything that I learned in high school is completely wasted :D

FT86Club reality show? We can throw all the top contenders in a house and provide them with copious amounts of alcohol to provide for drama and then have automotive themed challenges during the days (once everyone is sober of course).

I'd take the house plant over some of the girls that I've seen on reality TV.

Racecomp Engineering 01-04-2012 03:12 PM

Would love to be a Simon Cowell-esque judge on that show.

Okay...maybe I'd be more like Steven Tyler.

Shit. I know I'd be Paula Abdul. :(
