do these offer any sort of functionality???

or do they just look bad?

MTCRX 03-12-2013 03:22 PM

I like these, I just wish they didn't cost so much.

Not really a fan of roof spoilers, but the Seibon looks pretty cool, depending on whether or not the lines match up

switchlanez 03-12-2013 04:35 PM

I believe Grazio has or will have a roof spoiler. I'm on my phone at lunch otherwise I'd link you.

Calum 03-12-2013 04:42 PM

Are these meant to be functional areo parts, or style parts?

Chen 03-12-2013 04:48 PM

In my experience they are functional. Doesn't shave tons of time off during autox but those few seconds could be all you need.

The Charge Speed seems like the most performance oriented as it has fins that are vortex generators.

I'm just hoping TRD doesn't make the louvres from the 80's styling exercise, or I'll be breaking my rule of not spending money on purely cosmetic items.

Yeah, I haven't seen any confirmation that the louvres at going into production. If they make it, I will buy.

If TRD doesn't do it, the first company that does has my money....

Turbowned 03-13-2013 01:14 PM

Roof spoilers don't do it for me with this car, not sure why.

NemeGuero 03-13-2013 02:09 PM

These kind don't. I'm waiting for a D-Max style one.

PureSportsCars 03-13-2013 03:40 PM

Besides stating the obvious about their epic layers of bladed awesomeness what do you want to know?

Louvres are a way of blocking overhead sunlight from coming in through the rear glass while still allowing the driver to see through relatively unobstructed. Doesn't do anything for low sun, but that light is also less intense, so it's a pretty neat solution.

PureSportsCars 03-13-2013 05:50 PM

I remember them from the 80's camaros/mustangs/etc. but never understood what they were for. Well if that is what they are for then we should just get louvres on every window..

troek 06-08-2013 05:19 AM

i think those louvers look so good on this car.

AG3NT_5CARFAC3 07-01-2013 01:41 PM

ive been asking locally if anybody can make me a pair...so far no luck

Loki2x 07-06-2013 06:02 PM

This one's a bit different,....

sftateofmind 12-27-2015 03:25 PM

I swore i saw a picture of a twin with a roof spoiler that was modled like a wrx/sti wagons. You know how they come out more than any of the above. Anyone see this done? I haven't been able to find the picture again :(
