People has been asking for part# of the exedy clutch I will be running.. so here it is, came in today

From where did you purchase this?

About $2K? Baller!!

I was set on getting a clutchmasters, may reconsider depending on price.

Got it from Exedy, I will ask how much these things cost and will let you guys know..

So you didn't buy it, somebody gave it away as a gift or is it you are the test car kind of deal?

Wow that is really cheap for the whole kit.

That's for stage 1 which is OEM level capacity replacement.

I browsed the Exedy catalog, and the stage 3, 4, 5 (single, twin, triple disc respectively) for Boosted cars don't have a part number yet.

Stage 3 holds 340 WTQ, not too shabby. Stage 3 will be in the 1200 ballpark while stage 4 1800+. Stage 5, I really don't even want to know.

Page 56, 57 show values for FRS page 58, 59 show same for BRZ (This are Stage 3, 4, 5 specs in previous pages values for stage 1 and 2 can be found).

The Hyper-Twin along with a couple other parts will not be available to the public until late April/early May.

Yup, not an easy job when you pull the trans off all the time and inspect the clutch

I got it, broke it in religiously for the 500 recommended miles.

It was fairly good to drive 80% of the time. Allowed slipping, easy engagement. Pedal effort was noticeably harder than your regular 6 puck.

The other 20% of the time, it's an extreme on/off switch and there is no way to know when will it happen. It just happens and you will either stall or do a burnt out.

I sold it.

I still scratch my head at the awesome reviews it gets on other platforms saying its extremely easy to drive....

Idk if having lightweight flywheel make difference for our cars

Did yours make a grinding sound on decelerating

The spacers between the disks make a lot of noise, so that might be what you're hearing?

I don't know. It sounds really weird, could it be the ls diff fluid that I put in the trans. Damn autozone worker said it was the same thing for transmission. But i figured I'd hear it while driving to... I'm changing the fluid tomorrow and posting a vid in hopes for some feedback

I don't remember the sound to be exactly like that, but it's similar.

So Do you consider this normal? It doesn't happen in neutral. Could it be the gears vibrating from misalignment? I also put very minimal thread lock on the bolts that connect the flywheel and pressure plate. Like, very minimal. Thanks for the response sports guy, you're a really cool guy. haha thanks man! I can't really say 100% that it's normal, but from what I remember, it was a very loud sound and just sounded like something grinding. The thread locker wouldn't make a difference IMHO since you did add it.

I don't think it would be gears vibrating misaligned.

Get the fluid changed ASAP though, it will eat the synchros.
